According to Mapquest, it takes 13 hours to drive from Houston to Manchester. These seems kind of short, and I heard it may take longer. How long did it take you to drive from Houston? We want to be able to arrive at the best designated time, and we would hate to get there too late, or too early.
last year we left at around 10 AM thurs, got there around 1 AM Friday, wasnt too bad getting in either.
when u guys leaving this year, i think we are gonna try wed.- that way we can get there and not be exhausted, also we could break up the drive in two days rather than the marathon non stop 13 hour roller coaster.

I was trying to figure out what time to leave. It of course will be wednesday, but we want to do it all in one drive. Probably leave between 4-6pm, and arrive early in the morning. But that may change if we get lost.
I drove to houston last year. Granted it wasn't at during bonnaroo, it took us about fifteen hours. That includes eating two meals, stopping for gas, and that long-ass bridge in Louisiana.
Me and my buddy are going to leave Tuesday morning/afternoon and drive into Mississippi. Stay at a hotel/casino that night and gamble. Then drive into Manchester the next day and hook up with our group at a local's house. Then hit Roo Thursday AM (prolly around 8am). We wanted to break up the drive and well...we are both degenerate gamblers too ;D
Yeah you’re both a couple of degenerates, but we’ll hang out with you anyway. Kidding – this is Corey. Just make sure you smuggle those kegs in.
Hey just watch out for the back roads if you plan on taking any. The first year Amy and I went we got pulled over by a couple of TN’s best in an unmarked car in between Memphis (spend the night at Aunt’s house) and Manchester. I guess us being in the middle of TN., off the interstate, in a Bug with a buttload of band stickers on it, was too tempting a target. They said I was going 56 in a 50, but I was actually going about 47. Fortunately, we stopped about 20 min earlier because I had a bad feeling and wanted to do a better job hiding some ‘stuff’. That 20 min probably kept us out of a TN prison
last year it was around 13 hours. this year I will leave from dallas instead of houston...and that's a totally different way. not as efficient either...just leave an hour or so for "stuff" just in case. not a hard drive. drove all but two hours there and back...not bad. That bridge sucks!!! make sure you have gas! haha
Did it last year from Houston and it was about 14 for us, with a couple long gas stops and food. We left tuesday night and were in manchester by 10am wednesday. It was an easy drive with 3 ppl, may be harder with less but its definitely closer than you'd think.
"Love need not be a command nor faith a dictum. I am my own god. We are here to unlearn the teachings of the church, state, and our educational system. We are here to drink beer. We are here to kill war. We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us." — Charles Bukowski

Last year I drove by myself. Left from IAH at about 5:00pm got to memphis at 1:00. I stayed there for the night with my step relative and drove to manchester the next afternoon. Drove the fully way back that monday and it took about 14 hours, but I kept stopping at rest stops to take in scenery, etc. It wasn't that bad considering i was the only one driving, so it should be a breeze with more than one person driving. And if you leave early you should defineteley get there in less than 14, You can kinda speed through arkansas, but slow down once you get past memphis, the popo were lined up almost the whole way to nashville.
