Haven't heard an official confirmation from the festival, but it looks like D'Angelo is backing out. D has canceled all remaining dates for health reasons and I imagine that includes Afropunk as well. Hope he's alright.
Fuck my life. Maybe some of the artists will schedule shows at some of the smaller venues in Atlanta? I really still want to see Tyler, FlyLo, Danny Brown or somebody.

I'd like to not believe that still. I think they just probably weren't prepared to put on a festival like this. I heard in New York there were some technical difficulties and the power went out during Lauren Hill. Maybe they just didn't have the ability to put on a festival in the rain all together. Still I'd rather would have had a festival with no D'Angelo, a few technical hiccups, possibly some temporary evacuation, than no festival at all. But I guess this is there way of avoiding bad press if something really did go wrong.
If they weren't able to even set up the fest due to rain, they made the right decision. That would be a very shitty weekend if they tried to pull off some half-assed shit.
