Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I'm sorta the opposite--on the way down I have my tunes cranked (but also don't listen to any roo artists), but on the way home I play NOTHING-just relishing the sounds of silence. Sometimes I run my car window up and down to listen to the change in the sounds the air makes...and I like the way my tires sing when I cross certain bridges and change back and forth from concrete to asphalt pavement...
I'm the same way. I enjoy the silence at that point.
When you're starting to want to fall asleep, tune into some AM radio. That shit can be pretty funny/wild to infuriating. Either way, keeps me up!
Also listen to a bunch of NPR podcasts to pass the long drive.

Naw, that stuff'd put me to sleep. How 'bout Coast to Coast podcasts? Nothing more rousing than ghosts, aliens, zombies, werewolves, vampires and BigFoot....Wait, didn't I just see them all at Roo?

Put on something like Radio Lab, it's too interesting to fall asleep!
But ya, Coast to Coast is exactly what I had in mind. Listened to that on my long drives before.
Every year I always make a Bonnaroo CD, my rule is 2 tracks by an artist playing the festival, 1 track by an artist not playing the festival. Gives me a nice reminder for what the weekend will bring, but with room for other stuff.

I listen to my bonnaroo playlist non-stop on the way down. On the way home, I put on specific songs that I saw or had a moment at while at roo and cry a little and drive a little. The ride home is always emotional for me. I'm solo so I can cry and no one can judge me.
I listen to music on the way up, just usually not bands I am planning on seeing. On the way home, it depends. Sometimes it is stuff that I heard while there, sometimes just SiriusXM, sometimes comedy channel. Jeremy and I usually take our time on the way home and stop at scenic places, so it really depends on the trip home what we listen to. We also drive for about 7-8 hours, so silence isn't an option. Honestly, silence is RARELY an option. I need background noise in my life.

I'm a bit of a talk radio nerd so I actually don't listen to that much music on the way down, or on the way home. Sports talk going home (stream from home to catch up on what I've missed), NPR all the time, mix in a few podcasts, and whatever else I can find on the road.
Good call on the infuriating stuff - turning on a right-wing BS session can really wake me up, for whatever reason. Not that one can stand much of that, but it doesn't hurt to know your enemy.
Anybody else find themselves fascinated by Focus On The Family Radio? I find that I cannot skip past Adventures In Oddessy when it crosses my dial on a road trip. For a while I kept coming across radio plays of the Narnia books, too.
