I had no idea Leon Bridges toured with members of White Denim in his band. Now I want a late night tent with Leon Bridges leading into White Denim. Make it happen Bonnaroo!
They produced his album, Coming Home, as well. But yeah, I'd be all about that late night tent. We need some White Denim with a meaty time slot. I'm done with the hour long Thursday sets.
I'm in favor of this, although I don't see any need to give him a LN.

Agreed. I'm just a big sucker for awesome late night tents being shared. Like a good one-two punch of awesome acts in a row. His stage act wouldn't need a late night set (and I don't think White Denim has any reason to either) but I always look forward to those more. Maybe have him close a tent on Thursday and then let the other members of White Denim come out for an impromptu hourlong set (with maybe a cover or two featuring Leon singing).
Basically, though, I've been a fan of White Denim since first seeing them at Roo and want a long set from them and I know the late nights have a better chance of that. They used to, at least.
I have been saying this since they announced they were going in the studio. I love them so much, I would LOVE for them to play Roo.
My husband and I were discussing this on the way to Roo this year! We saw SIlversun Pickups three years ago at a small one day 'fest' and since then a full concert of theirs has been on my bucket list. This wouldn't be a full show, but it could be closer than what we saw last time. Really hoping for them to come to Roo next year!
I have seen them three times total, but all at festivals. I have been waiting for them to play an actual venue around me, so I can get the full show. BUT, they put on a great show no matter what. I have never been disappointed with their performance, and I will take them anyway I can get them.
I wonder if Bonnaroo will have acts start later with only 45 minute sets on Thursday again next year. I don't mind certain bands only having 45 minutes. Especially if they have one album but still enough buzz to play a tent. But starting bands around 6:00 was a little too late in the day for me. I just wonder if this'll be the new trend or if Bonnaroo just had an off year this time.

Oh man, idk if I'd even go to it, but it'd bell if King Diamond got a LN Tent slot to perform all of Abigail!!! (He just announced a tour like that)
Judas Priest > King Diamond, late night.
100% agreed but I just don't think Roo will book Judas Priest, though I'd definitely be there if they did. To be clear, I also don't think they'll book King Diamond but I would think Judas would be billed much higher, so King Diamond seems more likely to me. I'd LOVE a Judas Priest LN tent
Someone remind me again... why are we talking about one of the biggest hip hop acts of all time in the undercard thread?
If Kendrick can headline, there's not a chance in Hell that Dre wouldn't.
Yeah, unless these people mean LN What, Dre will get nothing besides headliner. Any Dre project will be on the What stage. The real question is, has Dre expressed any intentions to tour? (And I'm not talking about NWA because roo is the only US festival that has a chance of getting that IF they actually do it)

Hell he could buy the festival lol. I'm not denying what an absolute icon/pioneer he is. But I am serious when I say that Roo's target demographic audience would probably choose 200 or more artists/groups to headline ahead of him. He hasn't had a solo album in 16 years and I believe he had only two that weren't collaborations. He's larger than life and would have likely been more enjoyable than two of 2015's headliners. But I don't think he headlines Bonnaroo.

Huh?
Damnit, that's the exact opposite of what I meant, I meant Coachella is the only festival capable of booking that NWA reunion show IF they actually end up doing it, as rumored

Since we're a virtual lock to get a healthy dose of Americana, both on the BGS stage and beyond, here are what I see as some possibilities for that: Chris Stapleton (I'd almost be willing to bet on this one, as he looks to be next year's Jason Isbell/Sturgill Simpson riser) Jason Isbell Honeyhoney Richard Thompson (Been wanting this forever. Hoping the new Tweedy-produced album finally makes it happen) JD McPherson Langhorne Slim & the Law Hard Working Americans Watkins Family Hour American Aquarium

Agree with you about Chris Stapleton.
I'd also add Josh Ritter and Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats to the list
