Major Lazer would definitely be better than what we probably will get (Avicii or Calvin Harris)
Honestly, I've just stopped caring about who gets our top couple of EDM spots because I've excepted that they're basically guaranteed to book people I don't like and those acts will bring a crowd that I don't like. So I just expect the worse and appreciate the fact that I'll get a great spot at some smaller, under appreciated latenight show

I am hoping Disclosure gets a LN Which next year.
Anyone think the LN What act could actually become a regular thing moving forward? If deadmau5 gets it I could see Pretty Lights getting it.

Yeah, aside from Pretty Lights and Disclosure, the only people I really hope for that are EDM and could get that high up are 90's acts that are almost assuredly not going get booked (Portishead, Kraftwerk, Massive Attack, Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, The Prodigy)

I don't get why everyone says we will get Avicii or Calvin Harris or some other cheese edm artist out of all the great artists' Bonnaroo could and has booked. I highly doubt they would stoop that low, Zedd was enough.
I guess I'm kinda out of touch with the shit EDM. How high up would Major Lazer really be billed? Also, where would Jack Ü get billed?
I think they'd both be pretty high at this point. Jack U has been semi-headlining things this year, no way they'd be lower than top ten. Major Lazer would probably be top-15 as well, the new album will give them a pretty decent boost. Also, as far as shit EDM goes, neither of those are truly that terrible.
Yeah, those are the better ones, though the old major lazer was better than they are now. I largely call those two shit EDM because of the crowd that they attract

Honestly, I like the new ML album way more than I expected. It is what it is, but it's not terrible.
I haven't listened to the entire thing yet, just a couple of tracks. I'll have to give the whole thing a shot sometime soon
Since Flying Lotus is coming back, is there a possibility Chance can come back since he didn't have a real set?
I actually really expect him to be there. The same way that Ben Folds was in the Superjam in 2014 and then played with Elton. Chance and Tame Impala are the two acts that I feel very confidentially that they'll be at roo. (Chance pre-headlining what or which and Tame Impala possibly getting LN which)
My goodness this speculation is insanity. I think everyone has fantastic taste in music, but these are just ridiculous. I see a list of 10 bands and there is a small chance 2 of these could be on the lineup.

to be fair when I see those lists I don't assume anyone in their right mind is saying "these are the bands I predict will be at bonnaroo next year", they are just providing a list of bands any one of which would be cool to see at bonnaroo. maybe i'm wrong but thats how I read it. either that or everyone is dumb.

I'm willing to bet Flying Lotus will not be back. Artists just kind of say that shit at the end of shows. Kendrick said he would be back too. Lionel Richie said he would be back last year.
Some acts that I think might play based on their involvement with bonnaroo are avett brothers (4 spot), pretty lights (5 spot), cherub, big gigantic, girl talk, David Byrne project (6 spot), apparently flying lotus, chance the rapper, snoop dogg because he is the laziest festival add, skrillex or diplo project, bluegrass superjam I figure will happen every year, umphreys, Eric krasno in some form, les claypool new project, one guy from grateful dead, thievery corporation, one or two of g love/slightly stoopid/rebulution/pepper/expendables/etc, one random punk band, one tiny punk band, one random metal band, one tiny metal band.
Wish list that won't happen Chemical brothers, moby, fat boy slim, disco biscuits, conspirator, explosions in the sky, brand new, moe, frank turner, lotus, brothers past, darude, knife party, hold steady, little people, mf doom, riff raff, disclosure, sleigh bells, pixies, the streets

God I love the youthful optimism right after the festival ends. Especially anyone thinking Ghostface and DOOM would happen at Roo. If we're lucky, they'll book Ghostface and BBNG, but even that's pushing it.
Tame Impala, A$AP Rocky and Toro (for a Sunday tent closer set) are the only three I can think of that make sense to me this far out.

Was there less EDM on the bill this year or was it about on par with years past? I thought I noticed much less but I don't know a large amount of EDM artists names, so.
Way less. Kalliope gave all the bass heads what they needed.
2024 Lineup: 4/10 - HFTRR @ Larimer Lounge 6/1 - JRAD @ Red Rocks 7/18 - Dr. Dog @ Red Rocks 7/26-7/28 - Newport Folk Festival 9/19-9/22 - Bourbon & Beyond Festival

Bassnectar definitely helped with that as well. They treat his work like it's pure greatness.
I went to a Bassnectar show in Maine a few years back and was nothing life changing.

I went to a Bassnectar show last weekend in Tennessee and hated it. Second most disappointing show I've ever attended. That's what I get for listening to the hype from all the bass heads. I am jealous of you though, his older stuff is far better than the new stuff. I would enjoy going to one of his like 2010 era shows, but now he only has fans because he has developed a super loyal following that will praise ANYTHING he puts out simply because it has his name on it

Regarding Bassnectar, I think Noise Vs Beauty (new stuff) is WAY better then Time Stretch (old stuff). None of it is Mozart but his old stuff was always way too staccato and robotic in its rhythms for my taste. I like the moombahton feel of the newer tracks.
