I was thinking "ugh Wiz Khalifa, he was just there," but compared to Future, Fetty Wap, J Cole, Earl, and some of the other hip-hop acts people are suggesting I'd welcome him back in a heartbeat. His band sounded great when I walked by in 2014.
woahhhhhh, how diid Earl get lumped with the rest of those guys?! I'm not even a fan of J. Cole and I still think he's worlds better than Future and Fetty. Also, Wiz is terrible and so are the pot leaf symbol wearing white kids that he attracts.
I like Earl on track way better than Wiz but he was pretty meh live when I saw him a few months ago.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

The xx would be a must see for me. They played in 2013 LN so I'm not sure where they would go.
Also another band that played 2013 is Animal Collective. Not sure how likely they are either after playing 2013 but the new album comes out in February.

Oh yeah, trust me, I actually don't like Earl live. Ive been very forward about that. The only to reallyyyy love one of his shows is to be real fucked up and if he mostly does older stuff and you can rap along full of teen angst, haha. but all things considered: the crowd they'd attract, the spot on the bill that they would take up, (lack of) quality of performance, etc. I'd take Earl over Wiz every time.

Iknow AnCo is perfect for LN but, since they had it last time, I think seeing them start right before sunset would be great... The sun would set at the beginning and temp would drop during first twenty minutes of the show and then you'd have an hour dark/weird Animal Collective

Not a bad thought, would free up a potential LN conflict too. But really, any Animal Collective is a good thing
Has any band received two LN slots in a row? STS9 I guess? I know they usually bump Umph back and forth between day and LN slots.

That sounds beautiful.
exactly my thoughts. when I make mock schedules and stuff, I get backlash for not giving them a LN but I honestly think the beauty of the sunset show I described would be better than the just straight foward weirdness of a completely dark show. I dream of such beauty

String cheese had LN which in 07 and 11. Sts9 has actually had LN three times in a row (07, 11, 15).

I love a sunset set. Bjork as the sun was going down in the What field was an outstanding experience. I'm not even a big Bjork fan but I was in the pit when she walked on stage and I couldn't breathe for a few seconds.

Thank you for stoking the flames of my heart with the possibility of another LN Animal Collective set
I think it's a very high probability that AnCo are on the farm this year, I'd actually be surprised if they're not. And their '13 LN set tied with Sir Paul for my fav sets that year.

Well they are already on two fest lineups. Coincidentally ones local to us. But I agree idbe surprised if they weren't on roo lineup.

Yep, the album is done with a release date in Feb, plus we know they're touring this Spring from the Levitation and McDowell Mountain fests. And 'roo has picked them up on their tours to support their previous two albums.
I'm curious to see whether Deakin tours with them this tour. From the looks of it, he wasn't really involved in the recording of the new album. I'm basing that on the pics of them released in studio a few months ago didn't show Deakin but did show the other 3. And the fact that when you preorder the new album, you have choices of album covers of just Avey, Panda, and Geologist, no Deakin option.
Seems weird to me he'd come back only for Centipede Hz after sitting out MPP too.

Ehh, I think that's like 40% of attendees anyway. His booking wouldn't change that too much. As for the other remarks, I'm just not a fan of any of them. I guess if one or two of them were booked my friends would be happy, and I'd like them to enjoy the lineup too. But no more than that, please and thank you.
FlyLo had LN sets in '12 and '15, with his '15 show being my favorite of the festival.
AnCo has LN sets in '13 and '16, and their '16 show will be my favorite of the festival.
Animal Collective confirmed.
I'd honestly prefer the late sunset AnCo show followed by a mediocre headliner that I could skip/leave early and camp for a badass LN Tent combo.
(Obviously I wouldn't complain about LN AnCo but I would just prefer the other option I proposed.) it'll never happen but if they'd give me AnCo -> some trash headliner -> Grimes -> Super Furry Animals, I'd be in heaven. (I think super furry animals is the only unrealistic part of that request and even they aren't really THAT big of a stretch
The only way Jamiroquai graces any US festival is if Coachella drops ridiculous money for a one off. If it happens, I'll probably be there, but it won't happen
The Prodigy, Gesaffelstein, Father John Misty, or Jamiroquai late night would make me the happiest man on earth. Also this is ridiculous but a Daft Punk cover band that covers their less electronic stuff would be amazing but unrealistic. Something about us would be glorious in that format
M83, Miike Snow, Grimes, Beach House, Deerhunter, Tame Impala would all be stellar and would make sense, though I'm not sure TI is going to be hitting the festivals next year. A sunset Sufjan set would be perfection. Also I think it might be kind of a long shot but Jean Michel Jarre (electronic musician who started out in the 70s) would be really cool too, he just put out an album with a ton of collaborators (including M83, Boys Noize, 3D from Massive Attack, Air -- all of whom I would love to see on the farm)...it would be cool if one of the old dudes this time around was an electronic old dude. Chromatics would be sick too.
Maybe The Chemical Brothers would decide to hit up the farm? They've never been and barely played in the US this summer...
Rooin' since '05...(except 2014...worst June of my life!)
"Hey Peter Frampton! Do you like toast too? Yes, as do I. It is warm and crispy, and a perfect place for jelly to lay. Now stay the hell away from me Frampton, I ain’t got sh*t to say to you!"
Also, in the more recent tradition of 80s bands popping up on the lineup, an appearance from either New Order or Duran Duran (or both!) would be very welcome. Both of their new LPs are really good too (New Order's is better).

This might be dumb but why are SFA unrealistic? They're playing shows in 2016

They aren't really unrealistic. They just aren't doing many shows in the US (I think they've only announced a couple in NYC) but if they end up doing a full on tour I'll be ecstatic. The part that I was saying is unrealistic is hoping that roo would give them a LN slot

Oh gotcha. I'm on the fence about going to a show in Boston in May but I'd rather see them at Bonnaroo. Hm

Except for that festival they're hitting the weekend after Bonnaroo? They'll be at Bonnaroo. And if they're not, Roo's booking staff need to take a long hard look at themselves
