Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I drive from Winston Salem and have never gone through or near ATl. Why not just hop on 40 and go through Asheville? You'll go through Knoxville, eventually head south, i think you cut through the corner of Alabama for a second, and then you're there. Kinda.
I'd rather go to atlanta than deal with the twisty-turny mountain roads, especially since we're usually driving in the dead of night with a fully packed car.
Nothing wrong with atlanta except if you're wanting to cut some time off the trip to Bonnaroo
If you look at a map, it'd be great if they just built an interstate that cut across from Anderson, SC to Chatanooga, TN. That way all you atlanta people wouldn't have to deal with all that pesky traffic. Admit it, Atlanta traffic suuuucks.

^Are you serious? You can't be. There is no reason to ever travel anywhere close to Atlanta when traveling from Charlotte to Manchester but, to say it's a shithole makes no sense at all. Have you ever spent any time here? I understand it's nothing compared to West Virginia but, it's not all that bad! Some of us actually love it here! That's why I have to assume that you're just kidding.

Absolutely not kidding. Of all the cites Ive been too, Atlanta is without a doubt, hands down the overally worst place that I have ever been to. The only other town that even comes within the same breath as Atlanta is Cincinnati.

I'm really sorry that you had that bad of an experience. Maybe you should give it another chance. There are some shithole areas and some shithole people but, that's how it is everywhere. It really is a great town!

For a long time, I felt like that about Nashville! I got to where I refused to go! After breaking down and disregarding my past experiences, I had a GREAT time there! I've loved it since!

Been there twice already, and trust me man, twice is enough.
I went through Knoxville then Chattanooga. If you drive carefully you should have no problems in the few curvy mountain passes.
Atlanta is a fun city. Halloween festival at little five points, Masqueade, White Castle... Next time I visit I plan to check out the new aquarium. www.georgiaaquarium.org/
One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain. So hit me with music. Hit me with music, now, yeah. Hit me with music. Brutalize me with music.
As someone who has lived in Charlotte, Atlanta, and Asheville; believe it or not but going through Asheville or Atlanta from Charlotte is about all the same. Just so long as you take in consideration the time of day you will be coming through Atlanta. We all know to avoid that though. Both routes are just over 420 miles, so it will all boil down to personal preference and if you can get through and well past ATL at night or well before 3pm.
I can't stand the beating that my vehicles take passing over the mountains, twice (once to get into Asheville and again on the way out the other side). And I can't stand sitting in traffic. So take your pick of the lesser of two evils.
Really.. Atlanta isnt that bad... every big city has its spots that you want to avoid, but I gotta say ive been through Atlanta twice, stopped at a few places, and it was great!
Now, Morgantown WV... someone tried to carjack us!! so go figure
Karma to ya Chris4uk...couldn't have said it any better! Now, I will agree that the traffic here sucks a donkey d!ck, but Atlanta has many more attributes than problems.
Stay off the Atlanta interstates from 6am-10am and 4pm-7pm is my advice. Plus I am usually on the way to work or home during those hours and you will just be getting in my way! haha
