i was thinking of driving from NYC, but i got round trip tickets for $110 on delta, and with gas floating around $3 a gallon, those of you who are driving, how much do you plan to spend on gas?

Round trip from NYC, I'd bet that $110 plane tickets are going to be better than gas (depending on the kind of mileage your car gets). But there's the tradeoff in that you have much less space to bring stuff (tent, alcohol, clothing, whatever) than you do if you drive. Plenty of people do fly in though.
I'd guess that my friend and I spent maybe $75 each way in gas last year (we didn't keep track), coming from central MD at maybe 25-30mpg. So about 200 miles less than your distance from Manchester, and more money spent on getting there. ::
If you're coming alone it's sure seems flying would be cheaper and quicker. You could take the shuttle to Roo.
As for supplies, bring an empty duffle bag, take a taxi from the airport to a store and stock up (liquor/beer, water, snacks). The shuttle will let you bring a lot.

Woohoo, only $50 roundtrip for gas this year. Last year took an rv and spent a good $350. This year coming from Indianapolis in my new ultra low emission Civic. Gotta love the gas mileage.
