Launchy has neither the time nor the inclination to explain himself to men who rise and sleep under the blanket of the very scoops that he provides, and then question the manner in which he provides it. He would rather you just said "thank you", and went on your way.

Are you Launchy's press secretary?
Either that or a genuine bullshitter. Or (plot twist)...BOTH!

Please tell me everyone understood the reference.
It's tough to tell at this point.
But I will add that I do genuinely enjoy Launchy's contributions. From everything I've seen he doesn't seem like a mean-spirited guy, and the polarizing reactions (both positive and negative) to everything he posts greatly entertain me.

Does it have anything to do with deflated footballs perhaps?
edit-you two need an avatar, I can't tell you apart.
I find the dislike of Launchpad somewhat flabbergasting. We all sit here eagerly anticipating some news about the festival prior to its announcement. He's one of maybe a handful of people who can provide it, and people shit on him when he does?
I get that people don't like that he doesn't just come out and say whatever it is he has. That rings a little hollow, though. I mean, obviously people aren't supposed to be talking about this stuff. So whenever he passes something on, he's sharing publicly something that was private. Maybe someone said you can give some hints, but can't just give it away? Or maybe it wasn't supposed to be disclosed at all. In either case, what he says probably creates a certain level of risk for one or more people. Who are we to tell him or his sources what risks to take? Especially after some people demonstrated that they couldn't be trusted?
The "so just don't say anything at all" response is also bullshit. It's not like he just says "I know something you don't know". That wouldn't bother me, but I get why it might you. Instead, he says there's good or bad news, and plays his guessing games. I find those frustrating, but I also enjoy the puzzle play. The puzzles are also a convenient way around the disclosure issue above. By using them, he can say he isn't disclosing anything, but allowing people to figure things out for themselves.
People don't seem to have a problem with the guessing games and puzzles when they come from Insider or someone official. For that matter, how do we know Launchpad isn't Insider? I mean, I doubt it, but who knows?

You "supposedly" have only been here a month. Otherwise you wouldn't have wasted your time typing all of this, since you clearly haven't witnessed all his shenanigans.
I dreamt I didn't score New Orleans tool tickets, but then they ended up headlining all the festivals I was going to...needless to say, pretty good dream.
I don't know what to believe on this page. I'm very interested in this fest, enjoy BSing and watch the random bickering until valid rumors appear and Guess The Artist Soduko puzzles pop up.

Your suppositions were more wasted than my 100wpm. I'd already gone back and read through "Launchy"s post history, and I stand by my statements.
I'm also not sure either why "supposedly" is in quotes or why you thought it was the appropriate word. I lurked very occasionally before I posted a few weeks ago when I had some info to share. That info's now probably mostly non-operative, though I'm still trying to pin down how much so. When I do, maybe I'll go back to lurking, though I have some different info now.
