I honestly just don't feel confident about this vote; I don't find either Billy OR Taint to be excessively suspicious but also don't find one to seem way more innocent than the other, either. It is late and I need to go to bed like immediately, so I'm just going to cast my vote and might review tomorrow en route to work if I have time/potentially switch it if I deem fit. Also, I'll give more rationale to the vote tomorrow too, because I don't have the brain power to do so now (but I'm not sure how much rationale I'll really be able to give - I'm feeling very unsure as is).
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
- Rummy- you made several posts kinda defending me only to cast a vote against me. That vote realistically could have been the nail in my coffin. I find that interesting. You have mentioned a few times coming back to make a full post with your thoughts and we are still waiting for those thoughts.
Yes I know that probably looked sketchy and I meant it about coming back (I'm walking to work as I type this, so I'm doing what I can to get this in before deadline).
I don't find your actions or words particularly alarming or suspicious, Billy. You and Taint aren't the two I would like in the run off, frankly. But I voted in a similar way to Carini here - by way of who is voting for who and who isn't, not because of things you've said or done that cause suspicion. I'm sorry if that comes off as odd or fishy after I defended you (and I don't take back those arguments I made); it was just the only strategy I really knew how to apply here since I frankly don't feel that Taint OR you should be the one to go.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

Also I would like to point out that I was defending you against Jimmy's points and approach. Taint wasn't part of my suspicions there and so it basically has come down to a run off where, either way I vote, I'm not very confident in that being the right lynch. Again, I can totally see why you perceive it as a quick and unanticipated change of heart for me, but it just came down to me looking at the numbers and who has cast their vote where for Day 2 etc.

Good call everyone, let's ignore the fact that the guy i originally pushed hard against just vote switched on a whim to coincide begrudgingly with the guy I'm currently placed against.
I'm pretty torn on this vote. I've re-read the thread a few times this weekend, and I still don't know what to do.
I appreciate the time Billy has taken to painstakingly lay out his theory. However, I think Billy's theory boils down to one aspect - if Taint was suspicious of Jazmo, why did he vote the same was as Jaz on day 1? I can't answer that, but I'm not sure that is dispositive for me.
With that said, I appreciate the work that Billy has put in, and I think Taint hasn't really put the same effort in. Billy's effort is going to help us win this game. My vote is not locked by any means and could change, but for the time being...
potent >>> taint
What about the Jazmo whack? You know, the only information in this game that we know came directly as a result of mafia conduct? How does that play into your decision?
I think the Jazmo whack has been discussed a lot, including by my original Day 2 vote (admittedly, I only said I wasn't sure what to make of it - but that's still true). I always assume that a whack indicates who the Mafia thinks is inspector (of course, not necessarily who IS inspector).
I think it also tends to lead one's mind (my mind?) down the rabbit hole of mafia intentions. You can convince yourself of anything in this game - I think that's the only thing that is ever true.
The information that we have is that Tejas may be mafia, and Jazmo is not mafia. Jazmo did not vote for Tejas, so it generally leads me to believe that the mafia has no idea who was/is inspector. If so, good job inspector and keep hiding.
Definitely going to need to review some ish now. That whack is somewhat surprising to me but also might help enhance/support a theory I've had on the back burner for a while.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
So maybe Jaz even mentioning your name on a throwaway Day 1 caused you to push for him to be the whack. Your weird back and forth with potent and apparently voting to not be the decision maker is all suspicious at the minimum.
You think I want to be the one to condemn a man to die?
No, let someone else make that decision.
So you voted just so your vote wouldn't be the decider between taint and I? Why even play the game if you aren't willing to make tough calls? That is bullshit, cowardly, and completely fucking useless for the rest of the town.
My vote for you is simple. Upon further review, I think you might have been Jaz's given name. You have shown yourself to be aggressive/irrational/confrontational when called out. So maybe Jaz even mentioning your name on a throwaway Day 1 caused you to push for him to be the whack. Your weird back and forth with potent and apparently voting to not be the decision maker is all suspicious at the minimum.
Okay so I'm not sure I see the logic behind this Jaz-as-inspector claim that would then point to Slack; he voted for Slack in his very first vote then quickly switched over to you, and never switched back. Made no further comment about suspicions of Slack or anything Right? If that was Jaz's way of leaving a trail for us to pick up on....well, I don't find it very convincing, I'll just say that. Inspectors generally choose to NOT vote for their given name on Day 1, Round 1, first vote in, I thought?
That said, I also am not discounting the possibility that I mentioned pre-Jimmy whack: that you (Billy) and Jimmy are both town; and therefore, with the Jimmy whack, it might be the Mafia trying to point us in the direction of you for the next lynch. I see this as certainly possible, though I haven't decided how truly likely yet. Your theory of Slack being Jaz's given name doesn't have me convinced. But that doesn't mean I thus perceive you as notably more guilty than before - maybe I just need more insight as to why you've adopted this theory?
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
Not so much a reflection on them but on who is voting for them and which group has the one or ones I'm picking up the scent from.
Tainted - I don't necessarily feel you are guilty but I think Billy just might be a pawn
Carini - can you explain your vote anymore here? I wanted more explanation from you when it was cast but since you were voting Taint out and joining my side, I didn't want to do anything to topple the slim majority.

I think Rummy is correct here on the Jimmy whack. It is too simple to point to Billy in this case, so it is a classic case of mafia misdirection. They must feel confident about Jazmo as inspector to make that move.
So what is the consensus on the number of mafia that we have gotten? It has to be at least one. I would lean toward Taint more than Tejas if it's only one (mostly due to the odds of picking one off on Day 1 as town), but I wouldn't discount the possibility that we have 2 of the 3 right now and could end the game today.
I planned on making my vote this morning, but ran out of time before having to get ready for work. Hopefully I will make my vote this morning. Just wanted to put these thoughts out there.

Rummy, can you explain the bolded here? You basically voted for Billy because of the way the voting broke down. I'm assuming that meant you were more suspicious of those who voted for Taint than those who voted for Billy - in other words, me, Billy, Farris, and Miffy. And we can probably remove Billy from that because you did say repeatedly you didn't find him that suspicious (just more suspicious than Taint, from what I understand).
I read back through the thread and thought that my question on these suspicions could be answered before I make my vote.

At that point I realized my initial feeling was off and that it was more likely Slack and not Billy based on a gotcha moment on a reread where Slack mentioned Jaz having a planned first vote strategy and I don't believe he ever made mention of that and I looked back several games to confirm. Therefore I wanted to vote opposite him.
Yes I know that probably looked sketchy and I meant it about coming back (I'm walking to work as I type this, so I'm doing what I can to get this in before deadline).

I read back through the thread and thought that my question on these suspicions could be answered before I make my vote.
Yes, I will explain. So I honestly have found you (potent) fairly suspicious throughout the game; you've been quite silent but then will come in randomly and float some theories, then become silent again...and idk, it hasn't sat well with me. Farrisbueller has been similarly quiet (even more so, arguably) and of course silent does not equate to Mafia, but I would not be surprised if one or both of you are Mafia. Time to go ahead and say that. With these suspicions in mind, I saw that both you and Farris had voted for Taint - thus, I voted in opposition, which happened to be for Billy.
Now. I have some thoughts to add in regards to Billy, actually. So, after I declared my vote on him which put him at 5 and Taint at 4, Carini swooped in pretty quickly to switch from Billy to Taint - asserting, with this vote, that he doesn't "necessarily feel you are guilty but I think Billy just might be a pawn ." Not a bad reason to switch the vote, no, but he only did so once I had tipped the scale so that Billy was in imminent danger of being lynched. This doesn't mean automatically that Carini and Billy are in cahoots of course, but I'm surprised no one else has really said anything about it yet.
Taint said something about it when he was lynched:
Good call everyone, let's ignore the fact that the guy i originally pushed hard against just vote switched on a whim to coincide begrudgingly with the guy I'm currently placed against.
And i was waiting to see if anyone else made comment on this, but no one did. I find that odd.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
As far as the Carini vote switch - I didn't say anything for two reasons: (1) I voted for Tainted, thought him more suspicious than Billy and therefore wanted him lynched before Billy, and (2) Taint's comment was made close to JFG closing the round and my response to Jimmy. I didn't see it until after I responded to Jimmy, and I didn't think much of it at that time because I voted for Taint. That's my explanation - I would like to hear from everyone else on that, including you if you please.

Rummy, I should have been more clear, my question to you re: Carini vote switch/Taint's comment on it, why did you not comment at the time and reserve until now?
Obviously you gave some thoughts on it in the post above. I'm asking for everyone else's thoughts on the vote switch from Carini and why they didn't comment at the time.

I find parts of this post questionable, too. Yes, I proposed the idea that Billy might be a pawn here, but how can you jump to say so definitively "it is too simple to point to Billy in this case, so it is a classic case of mafia misdirection." As if, case closed. Isn't it detrimental to the town to just "case closed" someone who was suspicious enough to have almost been lynched in day 2?
Also, I for one strongly disbelieve that we have killed two of the Mafia. Knowing my own status as town, I was actually thinking today that I'm nervous because I have very little faith that two could be gone (Tejas just did NOT seem like Mafia to me, at all) and am increasingly concerned that our Inspector is dead.
Your (potent) replies today have me considering the possibility of a connection between you and Billy. Could Carini be involved in there somehow too? Idk, it is possible. Day 1 wound up with Potent, Carini, and Billy all voting for Tejas. Tejas was lynched. Day 2: Potent voted for Slack then moved to Taint, Billy voted for Taint and stayed there for the entirety of Day 2, and Carini went from Farris to Billy...only to suddenly move off of Billy and onto Taint at the last minute. Just putting that voting info out there for everyone to look at.
Oh, and what about the possibility of Jimmyroo as inspector? He sure did bring some heat to Billy before being whacked, and while I still do think that it SEEMS too obvious of an angle for Jimmy to have been inspector and voicing his concerns about Billy so openly and then to be killed that night...that doesn't mean it isn't possible.
Right now, I have my eye on Carini, Potent, and Billy.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

My answer to this is short and simple: I have been outspoken throughout the game, everyone can see that's how I like to play, but I wanted to sit back and see if anyone else would react before I did. No one did. So now I've said something.

Thoughts from others?
I think it's probably the dissonance of playing on a computer, and perhaps I should have used quotes when saying this. I was agreeing with you, like "yes, it is too simple to point to Billy in this case, so it is a classic case of mafia misdirection." I'm nodding my head in agreement with your sentiment by saying this. I'm not really saying it definitively, but I can see why you read it that way. My bad.
I certainly am suspicious of everyone left. Though, as I said earlier, my belief is that Billy is being setup with the Jimmy whack.

Farris > Carini
I dont like how he switched votes and I dont like his Tejas argument from day 2. Personally I think the wacks have told us a decent bit of information. I for one always go under the assumption that the mafia are never sure they nabbed the inspector (until maybe late game), just like town can never be sure of how many mafia are left (until late late rounds). It seems too risky to avoid signs of an inspector to instead confuse the town. The inspector is like a ticking time bomb for the mafia, the sooner they defuse it the better. Just look at what happened last game when the inspector made it to day 3. Mafia were pretty fucked even with a healthy dose of confusion.

What did you not like about my vote switch? We both voted for the same person.
You don't agree with me on Tejas, whatever, didn't expect people to blindly follow
Yes I agree the whacks have provided plenty of info that you seem to have ignored in making your vote for me. Please explain how either of them point to me at all. If anything Jimmy could have been subtly pointing at you when he said he didn't mind me voting for you.
Rest of your post is filler not needing a response but you left red flags a plenty for me.
