No particular order...these undercard acts will probably blow up this year:
Júníus Meyvant, Leon Bridges, Wolf Alice, Eskimeaux, Torres, Maribou State, Ivan & Alyosha, Villagers, Flyying Colours, SOAK, Trails and Ways, Hop Along, Ibeyi, Saint Motel, Happyness, Young Fathers
I'm not sure how much, if at all, I like them, but I've heard this song for the last six months grow from "occasionally on the college radio stations" to "dear god, enough already"
Was super disappointed when I saw them open for Beck. But that might have been shortly after they cancelled a couple of dates on that tour. Have you seen them live?

I caught them at Levitation this year and thought it was a good show. Nothing mind blowing, but I'd definitely see them again.

If my friends get their act together, I will be seeing them open for Primus and Dinosaur Jr. on the beach tomorrow night
I didn't. But I see that both Alvvays and Twin Peaks were booked by Forecastle and Outside Lands this year. Wouldn't be surprised to see at least one (or both) end up on next year's lineup.

Metz is not an up and coming band, neither is Twin Peaks.
Up and coming, in this context, should refer to acts with only 1 LP max, and even then it should be recent.
I don't think the number of studio albums or year of album release should necessarily preclude an artist from being considered up-and-coming. Sorry to nerd out, but Merriam-Webster defines up-and-coming as "gaining prominence and likely to advance or succeed". There are plenty of artists who go relatively unknown for years and don't break out until after releasing several albums. Not sure what the future holds for Metz or Twin Peaks, but both are still relatively unknown commodities to the average music fan. In the context of Bonnaroo, my interpretation is that up-and-coming artists are those who are likely to play a Thursday tent slot or an early afternoon stage/tent slot on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

Ehhhh, I don't agree with this completely. Besides, I think what the OP is really trying to get at with this thread is act that could/would play one of the main three tents on Thursday. While I think Metz is more likely for Friday-Sunday, I feel pretty safe in betting that Twin Peaks will play Thursday if they play next year.

I guess I'm just hung up on the fact that both acts I mentioned have 2 outstanding albums and are fairly well own in Indy rock circles. I mean, To an extent I agree with the Thursday thing, but i just think a thread dedicated to naming off every band that's got room to grow, have already established a solid fan base, and as far as inforoo goes, are fairly well known, is pointless I'd rather talk about and discuss/discover stuff that has yet to break out around here at least. Who cares about the rise to wide spread popularity to the average music listener. This place doesn't have too many of those.

then the title should just say Thursday acts 2016.

Chilllllll, I'm not even disagreeing with ya. Just pointing out what I believed the intention of the thread was/is. (I don't even know if I'm right)
