There had been rumors of 50+ dates in 2018. Lots of rumors today of a 38+ date Spring/Summer/Fall tour on Reddit and the Dead Forums and social media. I know some of it is legit. Lots of Dead and Co next year.

including europe? wow.
The Reddit stuff was the first I saw of Europe and I don't know anything about that personally but that guy that mentioned it is semi-tight with the band.

I hope Bobby is prepared for that grind...
For sure. He got burnt out with the grind of late Furthur. I saw somewhere that he was on a health kick and not even allowing alcohol back stage at recent shows so maybe he is gearing out for that.

Was fully expecting them to be at Lockn' this year due to Phil's participation in some other (somewhat competing) fests. We'll see when these dates are released if that remains a possibility.
Just scored a pit ticket for the show in Dallas this coming Friday!!! Also, a buddy and I will be going to the show in Austin on Saturday...Sec 86, row 6. Fun times to be had!!!

God, I hope so. I went to all four Boston shows this year (2x Fenway, 2x TD Garden), and they were the best yet out of the eight times total I've seen them!
The Friday, November 17th show was my all-time favorite yet - the second set was perfection with:
Scarlet > Fire He's Gone Viola Lee Blues Milestones Jam out of Drums/Space Wharf Rat > The Wheel Sugar Magnolia
And an encore of Ripple, a song I sing to my 1 year old son every night before bed That song has a special place in my heart!
And moten33, I bet you would've loved the Donna Jean-esque wail that John Mayer did at the Playin' Reprise on 11/19 lol

Stub hubbed at 5:30pm last night and did the Atl show. Ended up at the soundboard with some friends...good times...really enjoyed "comes a time" which i don't recall ever hearing before.

I was listening on the stream last night and holy moly, that Slipknot! before Franklin's was incredible. Glad you enjoyed yourself!

...forgot to add that the Viola Lee Blues in the 2nd was a rager. Mayer was throwing down some 'tweezer-esque' licks.

One thing that Dead & Company does particularly well, in my opinion, is the blues numbers. It's right in John's wheelhouse, and they really groove on songs like Viola Lee Blues, Next Time You See Me, Deep Ellum Blues, etc

See those are the parts I find most boring. I always feel like John plays those ones really safe.
Granted those tend to be my less preferred Dead songs in general

I'm a blues guy, so it tickles my fancy personally lol but I completely see why some people might not like it!

Dead and Co is sick! Are any of y'all going to LOCKN' fest this year? I'm really hoping they play this year. Wouldn't it be sick if they did a late night set? Fingers crossed!
