There's a 4 day gap between LA and Albuqurque where they skip right over PHX/AZ. Outdoor shows in AZ in middle of summer kinda suck, but Chase field is open on the 8th and 9th and the roof will definitely be closed by then. Otherwise that LA date is a saturday, I could probably swing that. May be cool to see them in Dodger Stadium as well.
has any been to alpine valley before? we were thinking about making the trek out there seems fun with the camping right there.
Alpine is always great for a show. Great lot scene, the lawn is bigger than average (or at least seems that way), lots of other people will be camping nearby.
night one was hot. working through night 2 now. JM is really finding his voice in the jams. and they lete Oteil sing!
that night one set two + e is hot fire on paper. haven't listened yet.
very excited to be seeing Dead & Co. this saturday in new orleans.
yeah, I'm really bummed they are skipping PHX on the west coast run. actually priced some air bnb's in case I can convince the missus to let me do San Diego-> L.A.

Same. Just got a ticket last night because someone from a group going from Mobile dropped out. It'll be my fist time seeing any version of the Dead and I'm getting pretty excited!

Enjoy! Dead & Company has only been getting better and better - they're my favorite post-GD band out there, by far.
I'm getting excited for the Summer shows (I'll be in Mansfield), but first I have the Bobby & Phil show in Boston on Thursday, March 8th! Really intrigued to see what they're going to do for those Duo shows.
I thought PITS sounded pretty bad, but that's to be expected for all the time off. I'm sure if you were there you dug it tho.
Yeah, there are a lot of complaints about the tempo which will always be the case with this band but I thought they sounded disjointed as well. The Weight was better than the first time and Jeff had some killer moments. They usually take some time to get going coming off a break.
So ready for Saturday! This show is gonna be awesome. Hoping for a GPJ sit in for Iko.
People always rag on the tempo thing with Deadco just like with Furthur or really anything with Bobby.
I have no problem with it. Go see JRAD if you want cracked out versions of Dead songs.
I love both so it's all good. I've seen Deadco so many times and each has been better than the last. Wish I had the funds to make the N.O. trip with some of my crew.
Ahhhhhh tmrw is the day! The first Dead show this big in NOLA since around Halloween '88 I think? There was the Phil and Bobby show at JF in '02 but that's a fest gig.
Saw this for the Sunrise, FL show. Wow def hurts my eyes ha
Got a video text from esteban. Love that MFer. Hope you guys had a blast. George Porter Jr. is the man. You guys get to see him a lot but that Sugaree was something special. I miss 7 Walkers. That first set was fire. I got called out to the bar so I missed the second set but I will re-watch tomorrow.
That was a fantastic show. I think it will end up being Top 3 or 4 of the year (for me) once 2018 is all said and done. Setlist fm has it:
Feel Like a Stranger The Music Never Stopped Cold Rain and Snow Peggy-O Friend of the Devil Smokestack Lightning Bertha Sugaree Scarlett Begonias Fire on the Mountain Eternity Jam Truckin’ Ship of Fools Uncle John’s Band Drums Space Stella Blue (edit confirmed after the fact) One More Saturday Night Werewolves of London
I felt like Bob Weir was the real star of of the night. Mayer was great too

I thought so too DMS. I neglected to mention the George Porter substitution for Oteil in the end of the first set along with him singing Sugaree. George was great. He's been around forever and plays with everyone big in the funk and jam realms who want his collaboration here. Sometimes I forget how old he is though. All those Meters guys are early/mid 70's at this point with I think Art Neville now being in his 80's.

slight edits by me to classify into sets.
it was a great show. Feel Like A Stranger > The Music Never Stopped > Cold Rain and Snow all great. IMO the set lost a little bit of steam with Peggy-O > Friend of the Devil. Not necessarily because Peggy-O is slower, but the band seemed a bit disjointed during these parts. Might have been a percussion issue. Or it could have been acoustics since we were in the upper balcony, I'll have to hear the soundboard to be sure it wasn't just my ears.
But when GPJ stepped out for Smokestack Lightning the whole show lit up. Christ I love GPJ so much. Something about him singing Sugaree just slays me.
Set 2 was fire beginning to end. Werewolves in the encore was a lovely way to wrap up the show.
Lots and lots of older heads in the crowd, definitely an audience that knew what the hell they were doing. Huge positive enthusiasm from everyone the whole show, the crowd was singing the appropriate sing-a-long lines at a deafening volume, it was awesome. I've been to many yellow balloon set break meetings but Saturday was my first Wharf Rats meeting. It was dope, my old buddy Mikey P working the table, lots of familiar faces from Phish tour.
My buddy's girlfriend who has never been to any kind of Dead or jamband show came along. She had a blast, always fun to see a show through the eyes of a newcomer.
