this will be my 3rd roo, but first year with an RV... what is the best time to arrive for the closest spots? what entrance should we take? also anything that is a must for an RV experience? help a brother out! -John
We pulled in right as the sun was setting on thursday last year and got a pretty good spot - 5 minute walk to the gate. We came from the east and got off on the temporary exit off 24. We were in the first camp to the left as you go through that entrance. Hopefully it'll work out the same this year.
Other RV advice: fill up on gas before you get in so you can run your a/c as needed. Always turn everything off when you're not there so the a/c will work when you are. The a/c is a beautiful thing as it allows you to comfortably sleep late... Also conserve the water - you will probably run out (especially if there are any women traveling with you). They do have people driving around to pump out your toilets and refill your water. Depending on how many people you've got you may or may not need to do that - I can't remember what it costs. I remember it took a little while to flag them down, though, so keep an eye on how full your tanks are.
I always camp at the Manchester Wal Mart on Wed night. We get in line early Thursday am and are usually in by 8:00 am. We always end up back by the silo towards the back. It takes about 15 minute stroll to Centeroo and it is alway entertaining because we have a great shakedown to shop on our way to the shows.

Hi, this is my 3rd Roo but first time with an RV as well. I have been asking the same question on myspace.com/bonnaroo, and have learned that if taking an RV, you should use the back entrance (Bushy Branch Rd?) and arrive around 5 am. A couple I talked to claimed that they took this way at this time and got the closest non VIP RV spot. I think we are shooting for this. -John
We took an Rv last year(and will be again this year) and we got in line at about 2 or 3am and got sent down bushy branch and got a pretty good spot. We were in camp Marty Mcfly, right near pod #2. We loved our spot!! I think we'll do the same this year.
