Lead singer of Delta Spirit is putting out some solo material. Would love for him to play a Thursday night set or a daytime Tent show.
Delta Spirit may be taking a break, but Matthew Logan Vasquez sure isn’t. The band’s frontman has been hard at work on The Austin EP, a five-song project where he plays the majority of the instruments on the album, save for “Halfcolt” where he gets some help on the drums from former-Cold War Kid Matt Aveiro.
The EP comes out Nov. 3 but Vasquez released a single so you can get a taste of what he has been up to.
“Everything I Do is Out” is a classic rock song that brings to mind AC/DC’s Angus Young in its delivery. Vasquez goes all out with pounding guitar chords and screaming, rough vocals. It would be shocking if he didn’t lose his voice after recording this track.
Vasquez is embarking on a California tour soon, and you can purchase tickets here. He’s releasing an LP titled Solicitor Returns early next year.
