BUT... that doesn't let you off the hook for that second statement, which I find at least a little suspicious. Even with JFG's prior play I see no reason to think that one should be so gung-ho about voting anybody off this early. Strikes me as a bit odd.
You haven't played with JFG in recent games. This is totally a legit reason to give D1R1 - just trust us on that.
And just to clear up the "how many games have I played" question, this is my fifth (along with 73, 76, 77, and 80).
Jimmy is also super defensive (and he can't research, apparently) right now and it's giving me lots of pause.
Speaking of research, it looks like Jimmy (as town, natch) was a rather quiet fellow. Quite the opposite from what we see here in the early goings.
Jimmy mostly responds with one or two sentence posts, both as town and Mafia, often with a sassy/quippy tone. Nothing wrong with that. Just an observation from previous games with him as town + being mafia with him last game. That said, I don't think he's being entirely un-suspicious right now.
I also want to add that you people are the least welcoming bunch of motherfuckers on the planet
You said you've read some previous games, though. You have to know that people like to get sassy, bordering on rude/aggressive sometimes, during gameplay.
Eh. I do think Dragon is getting defensive and posting some weird stuff, but I also can't imagine this is how he would come into his first game if part of the Maifa.
Of course I could be wrong on this - it could be a tactic/a strategy thing, I know that. But for now, I don't feel like my vote should remain on him.
Gonna switch over to Jaz, since the others have 3.
And those that were there know what happened with that (I was mafia, and pulled a stunt at the end to win the game).
I also don't like that in the same post that you say this, you save him from the runoff.
Yeah I knew someone was gonna mention that - but in R1, generally all we have to go off of is our gut feeling (except Inspector and Mafia naturaly who have more info than the town). Sometimes it is accurate/on the right track and other times not at all. I said that I do realize he could be Mafia and acting like this; as of right now, though, my gut feeling is that that isn't the case. I am choosing to go with that as my leading decision making factor, rather than the fact that switiching my vote to place someone else in the run off instead of him might look suspect to others.
There's still 12 hours left in the round. If others feel he should be in there, you're of course welcome to act on that yourself.
I understand what vote switching to take someone out of/put another player in the run off looks like, but you realize that the vast majority of the time that occurs (statistically speaking) is just from townies wanting to switch things around, shake things up, see what happens?
I know Dragon's personality on this board; I've read his posts here and there. He's coming across to me right now as newbie who is town and trying to sound more wise/knowledgable than he actually is in the game. That's my opinion. So I switched off him.
SFA said he wants Dragon in the run off but is unwilling to vote along with JFG, on principle. It isn't my fault that I switched my vote, with plenty of time left in the round for people to adjust if they want, and no one else has moved to get him back in.
I opted to switch my vote simply to mix things up and create movement.
I personally would not trust Rummy one bit. Why defend me if you're town? I've been unhelpful thus far, and am new at this. To the town, I am either mafia or a doofus, which hurts you one way or the other. I would be an easy candidate for the mafia to let play, continue to try to clear in the eyes of the town, and in turn distract the town from trying to figure out the actual mafia.
Also, SFA not changing the vote to me, despite stating that I'm the main person that deserved his place in the runoff, is mighty fishy, given the flimsy reasoning. I'm not quite sure what to make of this yet, as it sort of contradicts my statement above, but that's definitely something to keep in mind. It seems a little like trying to bring attention to me, without actually having me get voted off (which, as previously stated, would not benefit the mafia).
Well, you seem suspicious of pretty much anyone right now. I'm doing sketchy things but oh wait so is SFA...which at least you admitted contradicts itself. Your whole post kind of contradicts itself, actually.
Honestly, I remember my first game and feeling intimidated/confused and it being evident in my actions (I was town that game, FYI), so I was trying to give you a slight break for D1. And thus took my vote off of you. Now sorta wish I hadn't moved my vote off you in the first place. But whatever; I did. And now I can move back on ya.
My immediate reaction is probably that SFA was killed because he is experienced and not because he did anything in particular. He barely did anything at all throughout round one. The reason I'm voting for jazz is because I just get a bad vibe from him the way that he handled himself in around one and how he stacked me up even though what I was saying I think was really reasonable.
I concur. On both points - that SFA was likely killed more so because of his experience/skill than anything he said (unless Dragon was mafia, but as someone else said, that is somewhat irrelevant for this particular round since he is dead and we need to focus on looking elsewhere - though for later rounds, considering the idea that Dragon might've been Mafia could be helpful in seeking out the other Mafias). Also on your comments to do with Jazzy.
What a silent game this has been. My vote is purely to put a new face in a runoff. I'm voting for Taint instead of Carini (who would also be a new face) because I don't want the Mafia to hide their votes on players who currently don't have any, allowing us to just go into a JFG/Carini runoff with them having 2 votes each. Usually I don't think the town would let that happen, but this has been a rather inactive game and I don't want to risk it if people end up missing their votes. We should have at least three people, in my opinion.
I also think EAP is being decidedly unhelpful. I can't tell if she's trying to throw the game in a certain direction or just being whiny.
Jaz > Taint
I do think EAP is being decidedly unhelpful. Intersting though that you mention that, then choose to not vote for her.
Sidenote - Neither Jaz or Tainted were mentioned by the whacked player
Yeah. We know. But I, for one, am working under the belief that SFA might've been whacked as misdirection tactic and/or to remove a skilled player if the Mafia didn't have any clear leads on who might be Inspector. There really isn't much that he said that would lead us any certain direction....except to Dragon. Who is dead.
I kinda want to go back on Carini. But that might be a futile effort at this point - if people are wanting to go straight to a two-way run off next round, rather than three-way.
There's at least one person in each of the three groups (on Jaz v Carini v Taint) that I don't particularly want to vote alongside, but such is life.
I do find it interesting that EAP cited a few complaints about Jimmy and yet is now voting with him. I don't really want to move off of Jaz but also don't feel entirely comfortable being in that trio - something feels off in the EAP/Jimmy interactions and then their subsequent actions.
We have til 10, so I'm gonna think on it for a few more hours. Might switch, might not.
I am suspicious of Jaz for the same reasons that jimmy just mentioned; I also am aware of the carini actions that JFG has cited. I do not find taint particularly suspicious - not right now anyway.
Staying on Jaz. But wouldn't be bothered to see carini go instead.
(Which I realize at this point is not gonna happen, btw. Just saying I would've preferred Jaz v carini, over what we've got now in Jaz v taint, but oh well)
Uhhhh...this isn't how the game works haha. You cannot just command people to vote how you want them to, in order to be able to lynch the person you individually find most suspicious.
Sry, JFG - gotta choose between Taint and Jaz now.
Sometimes life gives you lemons. And you gotta vote for one of those lemons, rather than walking away in a huff and asking to vote for limes instead. Bc the limes are no longer applicable for this round.
Ok, I'm hearing you. So you have issues with voting with either me, or rummy, EAP, jimmy, and Tainted is in there too.
Can you expand on that?
I don't like how the stack on Jaz occurred, and something just seems different about EAP to me this game.
As far as voting for Tainted over Carini, Tainted being one of the votes on Jazmo was part of it. The other part was my vote was coming off of you to one of these two, and you had your vote on Carini.
Why are you voting for jaz this round, if I may ask? That seems weird after you saying you thought the stack on him was unsettling and then dangled out EAP's name.

The stack was strange last round. Could have simply been coincidence or something more, I'm not sure at this point. However, looking back at the whack of Rummy, Jaz is someone I wouldn't mind taking a look at. Not the only one, but I only have one vote and had to get it going somehow.

Why am I the only vote so far?
As for voting: its the weekend and I'm just getting to this. Now that I see no one but you had voted, I'm in no rush to throw a vote out.
Was there something in rummy's posts that makes you like jaz for it, or voting patterns, or just a hunch?
Just read her posts, I'll let you draw your own conclusion. I'm not going to telegraph everything I do or want to do.
Of course I will draw my own conclusion and vote accordingly; I just thought as this thread is the only place townies can collaberate, maybe on day 3 we might start putting our thoughts together. Shut that down if you want. I thought maybe you saw something I didn't.
When you reversed position on jaz with no extrapolation as to reason, I think it was fair for me to ask. It's also fair if you don't want to talk - but not what I expected when I posed the question.
It's not like anyone else is talking. Thought some one should try.
I guess we're going for am extension past tomorrow morning since I'm still the only vote with 13 hours left? I'm going to bed in just a minute, but will be up early tomorrow morning to check on things.

I mean, today's been kinda busy for me.
Shit's kinda hit the fan here at Mizzou.
And I'll be covering the football team tomorrow, so that should be fun.
On the topic of Mafia, the quote where she mentions that JFG sees Tainted as more suspect is of particular interest.
I assume this round is gonna get an extension, but since one hasn't been granted yet and I don't want to run the risk of getting voted straight off in case potent doesn't extend it, I'm temporarily throwing my vote on Rothric purely as reciprocation/self-preservation. I thought I was going to have the chance to go over this properly, but I haven't and I probably won't be able to before our current deadline.
Actually, no. I realized as soon as I hit send that I'd rather put in someone actually related to the whack instead of just reciprocating on Rothric, who I currently don't have any real suspicions of. SFA mentioned JFG in the first round (which I don't think says much in and of itself), but Rummy also has put heat on JFG throughout this whole game, especially towards the end of last round. So I'm putting my vote on JFG for now.
I'm sorry, I'm only covering a story breaking nationally.
NBD.
Yet you had time to come in here and say that?
I believe you're busy, not doubting that. But it doesn't take much time to do the least amount required and just place a vote. Hell, that's how a few people play the game even when they have time!

Actually I'm waiting for the football press conference to start, so there's kind of a lull in the insanity.
I'm waiting for EAP and JFG to post/vote because I'm sick of them acting like they deserve to react to everyone else after everything is laid out before them

this is not true at all. as hard as it is to believe, i do have a real life sometimes. i was at a fest all weekend.
i'm sorry i don't have fountains of knowledge overflowing for you guys. i don't post a lot and i never have. if this makes you mad, well there's nothing i can do about it.
my choices are usually very simple and based on who the dead interacted with the most and mentioned the most.
in that way i'm leaning towards jaz, jfg and slack.
I could vote for slack and give myself more of a chance with a third player at two votes.
But no: jfg > eap
Will gladly change to carini or rotheric.
Jaz has not hit my radar by action of inaction as of yet. Anyone want to speak why they are voting for him other than the whack on rummy? Because mafia never take the innocent words of loose-lipped, sometimes nieve players, and use them to their purposes once the player is dead?
Rummy said she wanted to see carini in the final run off (more than once), rather than tainted v. Jaz. Jaz is whacked, and everyone starts assumming jaz is evil mafia?
Eap and carini were mentioned much more by rummy then she spoke my name at the end of day two prior to her whack.
Look at the voting of the three I mentioned.
And rotheric; heh, his complaining about silence coming from someone who checked for the whole first day and got really, really defensive when I asked innocuous questions about an unexplained vote. Like Carini did when I quizzed him the day before.

You need to slow your roll. I didn't get defensive because you asked innocuous questions. I got fed up with exactly what Jimmy mentioned. You always sit back, wait til everyone else has voted, then step in and finally vote. Just tired of it, so stopped playing your little game.
You are much more active this game, which almost makes me wonder if something is up with you.
You don't find it reasonable to ask why over half the town hadn't voted with 12 hours left in the round?
I guess not voting til the last minute is normal to you, so I guess I can understand that.
Yes, it is entirely possible that the Rummy whack was done to frame Jazmo, I have not rules that possibility out. However, I'm not going to completely ignore it either. That's why I didn't say I was locked on Jaz, I'm more than open to debate on it.

I tried to open a conversation with you. You were the only vote at that point, and it was the opposite way you went the day before and since you gave no reason, I thought it fair to ask. We were the only ones responding at that point. Who else was I supposed to ask what? If I read that wrong, well that will be on me.
You shut down, and it gave me reason to wonder why. If you were at all interested in asking me a specific and relevent question, I didn't see it.
Slow my roll, I'm not even voting for you. Just 'talking'; sorry.
You've just got my neck hairs up with some contradictions you've made. How can I be 'silent' and 'more talkative this game' at the same time?
Idk, out of the three I mentioned - eap, carini, rothric (you) - I put you third highest. Just where I am right now.

Alright, I think I can expand on my thoughts now. Been a busy last few hours.
Whereas SFA's whack seemed like a misdirection, I think the mafia were gunning for the inspector on this one.
Here's why.
Look at her last two posts. The first, to me, is one that could be posted by anybody in the game. Anyone can suspect of anybody and that was, in my opinion, the case here.
And then she slipped up. The second of those posts seems very much so like a telegraph that she wanted a very particular outcome to this vote, and so the mafia thinks that they've killed off the inspector.
EAP would you explain your vote on me? (If you say it's because I've been busy with other shit...)
