It's been done before, don't see the problem with it.
I just can't wrap my head around not coming out as Inspector on D3R2, before the given name slipped out of the runoff.
Okay cool, seems to be agreement that it should be allowed. And I agree that it should.
Ummmm and yeah.......JFG, wut was that about?
I've admitted it was my big mistake this game. Mostly, I was shocked you were whacked night 2. After begging people to vote carini (at that point rothric had only ignored me that once when I asked him the same questions I had for carini. People were jumping on jaz, and I still don't know why they did that early. Wish I could have seen it. I asked multiple times, and players basically said 'a hunch; best guess') and poking around eap, I figured I was dead night 2 and feeling bad I hadn't left the town enough to go on.
Day 3 starts and I get another townie for my guess. "Not much help for the town; you are a shitty Inspector". So, I vote for EAP figuring if I'm killed today or tonight, that's another breadcrumb. Then Jimmy comes through and breathes life into a run off with eap. Given that i thought two of the three of carini/rothric/jaz were mafia, I figured slack was my only hope of moving (rothric, i know you have said you would have moved but given your acerbic responses to my posts, I was really questioning you). When that was no longer an option, and none of the suspects I had moved in for the coup de gras on me, I made a gamble that eap might go for jaz, as I didn't know for sure if he was mafia with her or not. Maybe I live and get another chance at a guess and redeem myself to the town by actually guessing a mafia.
When eap voted for me and jimmy came off of eap, I had to give what I had to the town. If we followed logic at the end, we still had a chance to win. Though it was made more difficult by my waiting. No hard feelings, actually @fortyfive33 now - it's just a game and you did what you thought best. Not sure why you thought it best, but I am hardly one to second guess in this game.

That's the thing, you didn't give the town what you had then. You waited until that round ended, and EAP was no longer in the runoff.
And I am curious to hear Slack's rational for leaving his vote on Jfg. Because if we lynch Jazmo, Jfg gets whacked. EAP's an easy lynch the next round and it's already obvious Carini's the 3rd at that point. Town can still win.

Oh well, can't change it now.
Prefacing this with saying I'm not being prickish - it is tough to get tone over the Internet - have you played the role of Inspector? I misremember.
This was my first stab at it. Thought it would be great fun to have the inside info, bust up the Mafia. It is really hard. You hide, yet you have to push players in a direction in stealth. You know some things, but not others. You have suspicions based on knowledge only you have, but can't share the reasons you have suspicions. Most of all, you don't want to f*ck up and let the town down.
I walked the line as best I knew and faltered at the end, but we still had a chance with what I gave the town even if it was late.
No, I have not been Inspector yet. I have no doubt that it's an extremely stressful role.
And agreed, you did the best you could after the opportunity had slipped away. We still almost pulled it out if Slack would have changed his vote.
I bet it was Rummy's move to get Carini back in the runoff on D2 that ultimately got her whacked. Mafia, am I correct in this?
And no hard feelings what-so-ever, it's just a game.
I am in for the next game.
Yes, Inspector is hard. Only time I had the role, I ended up in a two-person runoff in Day 1 with my given name, forcing me to come out. Took a Mafia down with me and cleared a townie though, so I guess it worked out.
And it was a toss-up between Rummy and Jimmy for our thoughts on inspector, they were both coming at me and EAP. And Rummy seemed like she REALLY wanted JFG to vote for me at the end of Day 2. But Rummy hadn't gone for me as hard and had named people other than EAP and I, so whacking her was easier to spin and wouldn't trace directly back to us like whacking Jimmy would have. JFG was never even on our radar.

Inspector is a really tough job, no question about it. My one time doing it thus far was somewhat similar to Jaz's - I wasn't in the run off with my given name but with Phi, and I wanted to put off revealing until I knew I was getting lynched for sure. But shit spiraled downhill quickly because it is absolutely hard to time when to reveal when in a tough spot like that. I waited too long, but finding the right time is tricky. I saw JFG's late reveal of his info this game and shook my head, but I know that I learned from my mistake of waiting too long last time (because then JFG questioned me for any and everything due to that late reveal haha - IRONIC NOW, ISNT IT?) - now hopefully he has too.
Yeah. I came after you both hard. Felt pretty confident that you and EAP were absolutely mafia by Day 2; couldn't be sure of course, but I felt like it would benefit the town to push hard for you guys, even if I was whacked that night, which I was.....Yet then, everyone ignored that and let EAP slip out of the run off and Jaz get away, too.
