Slack offered a lot of thoughts on possible theories, and Jimmy tried to shut him up, which I don't like. Slack knows how to play. Then Jimmy voted for EAP, who isn't playing at all outside of her usual way. I agree with his desire for at least three in an initial runoff, but not his reasoning - seemed kinda like a lazy excuse to put one of the better players in the runoff.
Could you be wrong on more points? Slack has played this game like 2-3 times if I recall correct. Perhaps he can advise better on that number.
Next, I didn't try to shut him up. I gave good advice.
Third, my reason for voting EAP was good. She was the last to place a vote and DIDNT create a runoff. She then ignored me for half a day and said she didn't want to create a runoff because she doesn't want that "power". That's ridiculous.
Fourth, EAP isn't good at this game. She's lazy. I don't think I've once seen her win the game for the town based on her figuring out who is mafia. If I wanted to kill a good player id vote for SFA.

Slack has played in five games. And yeah I probably sounded more aggressive than I intended to last night, but I disagree with your advice and reasoning for voting for EAP. It's the first round - I ain't got shit to go off of, so it's gonna be small non-points like this on which I base my vote.

Dude you are such a dick. No wonder no one likes you.
I just won a game like two ago where I figured out app three mafia in four nights. But nice try dummy.
This round will end at 10AM EDT on Wednesday, October 28
I would love to experiment with shorter days. I wanted to end this round tomorrow night at 10pm with the stipulations that the 12 hour extension would be automatically granted upon request, and nobody would be penalized for missing a vote in a 24 day round (and missing the vote would trigger the 12 hour extension as well) but since I didn't mention it pregame I didn't want to ruffle any feathers...

Rummy is the only person who responded about the possibility of a 24 hour day round, so this round will be 36 hours without other discussion. I'd like to consider 24 hour days (with the aforementioned triggers/caveats) moving forward in this game if nobody has an objection.
And just to clear up the "how many games have I played" question, this is my fifth (along with 73, 76, 77, and 80).
Jimmy is also super defensive (and he can't research, apparently) right now and it's giving me lots of pause.
Speaking of research, it looks like Jimmy (as town, natch) was a rather quiet fellow. Quite the opposite from what we see here in the early goings.
Jimmy mostly responds with one or two sentence posts, both as town and Mafia, often with a sassy/quippy tone. Nothing wrong with that. Just an observation from previous games with him as town + being mafia with him last game. That said, I don't think he's being entirely un-suspicious right now.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

I'm comfortable with my vote. It was originally because I think your avatar is stupid but at this point jimmy vs jaz at least seems reasonable. I dont care if we experiment w shorter days, it makes sense to me.
I don't have a problem with 24 hour days early in the game, but I think after 2-3 rounds, we should revert back to regular time.
The opposite tends to make more sense because fewer people will be involved in the later rounds. I've been pretty open about thinking shorter rounds make the game more challenging. If it fits with everyone's schedule then I don't see a problem with it. When I ref I usually let the open of a round run the normal time and then make the runoffs shorter, unless there is discussion/ late vote switches the warrant an extension.

That was essentially my thinking. I'm leaving this one until 10am tomorrow and I'll stop asking because I don't want this discussion hijacking the game, sorry about that.

I feel like the early rounds are seldom very revealing. Most dot-connecting seems to happen in later rounds. It'd be better to have longer rounds then, as opposed to now.
I'll defer my vote to SFA on the time thing. I really think it's a discretionary decision for the ref in most instances. Sometimes the round needs to be longer than 36 and sometimes 24 hours is enough. Ref needs to feel the pulse out. Or we could just do 36 hours every single day.
I also think this is a very tangential topic that is distracting and irrelevant to the game. Can't we discuss this before or after a game is already in play??
This is only creating cover for mafia, as we lose focus.
