all of the shows in my sig are holding strong. I may make a last min decision to see GnR tomorrow night since upper level tix are only 20$ but im not sure ill be home in time to make it worth it by the time I would get there. Outside chance I see Modest Mouse this weekend too but only if tix drop low enough which doesnt look likely. ill be updating soon bcuz we got so much good shit coming in the fall including Project Pabst announcing a lineup next week.
doing XPN fest for a day next sat too see The Revivalists, Record Company, Pres Hall, Gary Clark, and Bama Shakes. doing one day of MIA too and that will be for whatever day Chance plays
That's got its own thread. There are some interesting acts on that lineup. Not to be a contrarian, but we were sitting on a hill at Bonnaroo 2012 that Sunday (???) afternoon eating, and I thought the Bon Iver show was kind of boring. I think we stuck around because of the flannel shirt crowd gathered down by a smaller stage which ended up being tear-inducing Flavor Savers. But for probably not a whole lot of money, there are some comedy acts (intentional or otherwise) in Gucci Mane and 2 Live Crew. I'd see either one anywhere. Obviously there is a sh*t-ton more good stuff, but those stand out to me.

I don't know how a Bon Iver set could be any other than boring.
Justice at Hangout would be real legit.
James Blake is top 10 live performers for me as long as he has a good sound system. But you just have to sit still for that shit and let it take you over kinda weird for a festival setting...
New Lotus album is absolute perfection. I can't say that I liked every song on an album in a very long timd but this thing is a dance funk frenzy from start to finish. The variety of vocals really makes it flourish.

Edit: Sneak peak of my left foot y'all.
No way. I can't get shit on the web yet, so I'll have to wait a few days. But no way it's that good. I'm ready to cede the title to Conspirator, but ill give it a fair chance.
Dumbfounded that them and Chvrches haven't played this fest yet. They've played what feels like every single other fest besides Hangout. Most of them multiple times.
Sigur Ros on the beach would be hilarious. But it would get me back down there.
I'd say getting Sigur Ros is ZERO chance based on this year and them not appealing at all to any "fringe" elements of music. It was overly safe. I'm not saying Sigur Ros is fringe, but their fan base is mostly younger than me but older than the Hangout target audience from this year. They also sing in foreign (including partially made up) languages in most of their songs. In the past, that would have been a great 3rd stage act (whatever they called the one the furthest off the Gulf from the Main Stage. I think they called it The AXS Stage this year).
The only bone or bones they threw to various aspects of an older crowd were Lenny Kravitz and Jason Isbell. Maybe you could throw the Muddy Magnolias in there also. Without any hard evidence, I'd suggest the average Sigur Ros fan is somewhere between around 28-45. I am a fan and have seen them and would have loved them to have been at the beach. But when the top 8 lines of a festival include the likes of The Weeknd, Calvin Harris, Ellie Goulding, Panic! At the Disco, Grimes, The Chainsmokers, Walk the Moon, Fetety Wap, 3LAU, Bro Safari and B0RNS, you've pushed everything and everyone else away. Wailers, Lizzo and possibly Base Drum of Death are the only acts even close to what I'd say would be a perimeter for Hangout's 2016 lineup. And Health as well. But almost all of that is way, way safer for Hangout (Health being a possible exception) than Sigur Ros.
All my kids said he ate balls last show here. One of them had been wanting to see him for a while, but he came back saying it wasn't worth the price of admission. His hardcore EDM buddy went so far as to say it actually sucked, and I don't think that individual has seen an EDM (non-House) show that he didn't like.
Short of me being allowed to curate the lineup, I don't think anything will ever get me back to the farm in June, but only 45k this year is pretty surprising.
