I'm agreeing with you. It doesn't matter if one of the headliners cancelled a week prior; what matters is the memories made.
he hasnt canceled plus its not like most planned to see him so it should make zero dif. to yall unless you're rly just butthurt b/c you want a replacement so you dont have to leave early.
ill be at frank or in the tent with dillon. its that easy.
I dont understand how some people on here have convinced themselves that Frank Ocean is still coming to this fest.

show me proof he is not. obviously all the "insiders" in here arent saying shit today...
"olliethebum" comes in and drops colony house on his 1st ever post and then vanishes.....cue spooky music
My bad...looked up their tour and they'll be in Canada. The HOF17 TuneIn station is playing lots of other bands that are not on the lineup...like what's the point?
Maybe you guys are right - shouldn't put so much into the schedule pre-fest. I just love to plan out the days. I'll live...maybe *continues heavy breathing*

If you take away the multiple publications that have said he is out from this Festival, you still have to deal with the common sense of the matter. Sasquatch, which is 16 days from now, had to cancel him due to Production Delays. If the production is delayed for Sasquatch, then it would obviously also not be ready for the festival that is before Sasquatch

I'm not even going but calling a headliner cancellation unimportant is just false. Fact is, a lot of ticket buyers are left in the dark on this and it's just flat out shitty.

Same. I don't care if Frank is in or out. I just like the schedule in advance to plan my weekend, schedule meetups at sets, and decide on conflicts.

same thing happen last year when it was playing Lana Del Rey.
Unrelated yet related: I've been jamming to Susto all day at work. My new fave Hangout discovery.
Here's a game we may or may not have already played. What undercard band had you never heard of until Hangout and now they're one of your favs?
For me: The Weeks (in 2012 I think). Amazing band just saw them for like the 5th time last Saturday and they are still great.
quite a few for me going back to my first year in 2013.
13: Space Capone, Mowglis, Moon Taxi, The Revivalists
14: Lonely Biscuits, RDGLDGRN, St. Paul & The Broken Bones
15: Charles Bradley, The Suffers, Griz, Future Islands
16: Pell, Lizzo, Foals (i knew of them but very little, dove in deeper when they were playing and love them now)
Since discovering these I have seen and met The Lonely Biscuits and RDGLDGRN like 4 times im actually pretty cool with Green through twitter and hanging after shows. Seen The revivalists 4 or 5 times since too.
Lonely Biscuits opened for The Weeks on Saturday. Those guys have some ridiculous lyrics, they were great!
i miss the old Biscuits though. johnny, the other vocalists left last year. without knowing it at the time i was at his 2nd to last show with the band. Gravy still has some clever lyrics though for sure.
Tempted to email Hangout my resume and offer to run their social media pages for them in the future. Whoever does it now should be out of the job. I did some promotional work for them in the past but I'm not sure if those same people still work there since the GV takeover.
There is a good chance that these are posts they scheduled 6 months ago and they haven't logged onto twitter in weeks. Anyways, Id gladly have you run that shit.

I'm just getting antsy with a lack of news and no schedule to plan out my attack - what time I'm going on and conficts.
I guess dragging it out creates less days that people can bitch about them moving Weezer to a headliner. Or just dump it on a Friday afternoon and slide into the weekend.

I misread this but #1 for me is STS9. Had no idea wtf I was walking into aside from a few of their spotify songs off their 2011 album which sounded more like Glitch Mob style shit. I now have seen them 10 times since.
Also: Diarrhea Planet, Grizfolk, Space Capone, RDGLDGRN, Vince Staples, Frank Turner, Prez Hall Jazz Band
Honorable Mention: Lizzo, didn't see her at Hangout but had plans to. Hail Lizzo.

I like what I've heard from Susto as well...looking forward to them. Los Colognes definitely stands out for me with lots of listening hours since I first saw them on the Slut Life stage.

Maybe this is just me, but I personally don't listen to a ton of lineup artists until after a schedule drops. Generally hasn't been a problem since Roo was my first fest and they always release theirs a month ahead. I don't feel the need to listen to EVERY artist on a lineup, and the schedule helps me narrow that down to the ones I wanna see. Plus nothing is worse than listening to two bands and then finding out they conflict later on. This one being late is also a bummer. Like for me, MGMT and Widespread Panic were conflicting at Beale Street. Really wanted to see WSP, but wasn't sure who MGMT would be up against at Hangout. I was hoping we'd have a schedule but we never got it. Since I had already seen WSP, I went with MGMT, but if they're conflict-free at Hangout it's gonna be a slight bummer since I had to miss WSP.

"There’s no official word on the status of Ocean’s other festival gigs, but it’s likely that Hangout Music Festival — which takes place two weeks prior to Sasquatch! — will also need to look for a replacement headliner. An industry source confirmed as much, telling CoS that Ocean has indeed canceled his appearance at Hangout, as well."

you're almost completely disregarding the importance of this.

I cannot believe we're a week out and, instead of reading about everyone's excitement, I'm forced to scroll through a speculation argument/pissing contest.
