I cannot believe we're a week out and, instead of reading about everyone's excitement, I'm forced to scroll through a speculation argument/pissing contest.
Remember that one time we were all upset w Jack Johnson being added even though 90% of the line up was dope and they were on top of their shit.
Given some of the proposed alternatives, Jack would be a good add for me. When I think Headliner I'm thinking of someone who can have most of the crowd in a massive chorus the last hour. DMB, Stevie, Simon, Foos, RHCP, Paul, KOL, (ZBB for a surprising number of people know "toes", "where the boat leaves", "free", "chicken fried", and "the Chris Cornell head and crown duet"), WSP, Jack White, and Black Keys all qualify. Mumford has maybe two songs, Frank...I don't know any, and the next two lines on the card one or two total. I know more Jack Johnson when I hear them than most of this lineup. It would be huge, for me, if Hangout signed a John Mayer, Stevie Knicks, Tom Petty, or equal to fill a hole at the top, if one exists.

You're saying more people know more WSP songs than Mumford? Are you serious? I don't think my wife could name one panic song and we've seen them like 10 times and another 5 times this summer.
Mumford does not have 2 songs Bob. That's quite the exaggeration I'd have to say. Sorry, but have to call you out on that one. I do like some of your possible headliners though
I just messaged Festive Owl. They said Hangout is dragging their feet for some reason. They don't know why, but they did say that it was confirmed to them last week that Frank Ocean would not be performing. They also haven't heard anything reliable about who the replacement is

Two that I know, sing, play. They have multiple albums and many awards. I can't wait to see them. But, not in the class with previous named headliners. Very good musicians, but not Tom Petty.
