Mgmt > Weezer > Phoenix was honestly one of the best runs in awhile. Weezer is practically at headlining level w production. Phoenix may be one of the most under rated headliners.
Was on the rail with beachbob for MGMT and, honestly, wasn't really feeling it. Weezer and Phoenix blew it out of the park, though! chickinchickasaw and I were on the rail for the first few Weezer songs, and then I had to go to the bathroom. Met up with Bob and mattgobear for Phoenix, but they ditched me early. I believe **I** and the real MVP!
Well, you know I gotta ask... Did they play 'Kids' and/or 'Electric Feel'?
Jimmy Lumpkin and Weezer were my favorites by far. Strumbellas, White Reaper, Joseph were all good. MGMT and Phoenix were disappointing. In all a fun day. Pool time at condo and VIP. So far, VIP is a bust for me. Prefer GA. Why? No whiskey, can't take beers out, food terrible and only from 2:30-4:00, cost more, Grove over hyped, LOCKERS COST $45, and more friends in GA. The meet up at Mermaid early for Jimmy was a great start. Chicken Nachos were awesome. Weather humid which can wear on you but, breeze and beach awesome. Enjoyed meeting meraiko and her family, ditto mattlikesrock, kind of like brothers from other mothers with jdstultz, thebrewdude, solidrock. Sorry sparkysarah, dancing with you is a wonderful thing but after Weezer, Phoenix was sleepy time.
I'm in for Mutemath meetup.

Joshua James, Mutemath, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, pool, BOH, Head and Heart, 21 Pilots.
Wireless at condo hammered by Hangout attendees.
To windy for fireworks last night. Weather forecast for storms this afternoon through tomorrow mid day then it is a SWAG. Probably head home early Monday.

They played both. I left after "Electric Feel" to post for Weezer with chickinchickasaw . "Kids" was never my jam anyway.
ASAP Ferg> MGMT. his set bang and was one of the better hip hop shows I'd been to in a while. Also weezer proceeded to kick ass and play a better set than I expected. I was very pleased with yesterday.

My schedule: Grove/pool > Mondo Cozmo/Joshua James split > INFOROO MEETUP FOR MUTEMATH (Also, pool) > Rainbow Kitten Surprise > condo for dry clothes > Mondo Cozmo VIP set > Lewis Del Mar > Band of Horses > The Head and The Heart > Sigur Ros > end of 21 Pilots
Wet clothes: blue print bikini and white lacey shorts. Dry clothes: literally the dress in my profile picture.
Not hating VIP. Just not the value for me. It is a good thing for some people and not so much for others. The fewer VIP "heads" last night meant using portolets. Viewing is marginally better. I would much rather have a restaurant food and drink credit. Not a Krispy Kreme kinda guy. Got pool at condo. Misting stations a nuisance with a camera. They did get the VIP entrances up and going and the apples were delicious. Hoping to catch an acoustic "intimate" show in the Grove today.

Great day yesterday. Hung out with beachbobjdstultz and solidrock most of the day. Jimmy Lumpkin was incredible, as was Joseph. Ran into sparkysarah and chickinchickasaw at Joseph. Really enjoyed Strumbellas. However, Weezer stole the day. They killed it and the huge crowd really enjoyed the set. I love loud singalongs and their set was full of them. Wow!

Yes and they threw out giant whale floats for electric feel.
beachbob i don't understand why they don't have bourbon in the Grove either! And I agree about Phoenix after Weezer. Weezer was so excellent that I didn't really care about Phoenix.
I think we're going to skip Mutemath and will stay camped at Fitz after Mondo Cozmo for RKS. I'm thinking we'll be on the right side so look for our family when you guys come back for RKS. I'll be in a pink and blue tie dye coverup.
VIP is amazing. Bob get a Camelbak for 20 bucks and fill it up with whatever you want all day long. Just don't make a production out of it. Food was awesome. Barns Courtney set was great. For me best shows were hands down Andrew Mcmahon, Strumbellas, Weezer, and Phoenix. They all killed it in my opinion. Passed on MGMT because they fucking sucked last time I saw them. Caught Kids at the end. Weezer setlist was perfect. Totally agree

Who are the VIP grove sets? I can't find it. I think I remember a few good acts in the list though. Is Mondo Cozmo today?
If you don't go to Sigur Ros tonight, you should have your wristband cut off.
I will give 21 Pilots credit though, the first time you see them, it's a memorable experience. This pic is from the very first show of the festival at Bonnaroo several years ago. At the time I named it 21 Pilots maniac.jpg
For anyone not there, here's the streaming schedule (all times Central). I might catch Mutemath today before leaving for Cracker and maybe Shaggy tomorrow if I have time. www.livexlive.com
3:45 - Rufus Du Soul 5:05 - Joseph 6:10 - Magic! 6:55 - Mutemath 7:30 - Strumbellas 8:20 - Mac Demarco 8:55 - Major Lazer 9:30 - 21 Pilots
Tomorrow 2:30 - Yachty 3:35 - Hurray for the Riff Raff 4:20 - Shaggy 5:05 - Local Natives 6:00 - Young the Giant 7:20 - Lukas Graham 8:30 - Phoenix

Headed out now. For sure we'll be at Rainbow Kitten. I've got a blue flora bama tank and yellow shorts. Also I'm a girl in case that wasn't clear. Be with my frind wearing a golden state of mind shirt and some other cool kids.
Missed the first third of the set but they were AWESOME! Hope to see more of them. Sitting on front edge of grass at Fitz til RKS hoping this black cloud goes elsewhere.

So, looks like they're setting up for fireworks behind IWW right now. I seriously don't see how that's going to happen with the wind blowing like it is. I love being close to the gate, but kinda wishing I was a little further away at this point. Bob and Sarah, you may want to get your bags together, just in case...
