I took over hundred photos. I prefer to email them and they will be 2mb unless I use pilxlar and reduce size. After a day of packing, driving, unpacking, mowing, weedeating, cleaning, bills to be paid, etc, etc, I will try to get to the photos tomorrow. If you are in them I'll message you for an email. I know the Mutemath photos were awesome. Got the lead singer with his little girl on stage and him body surfing the crowd. Going to try and grill my seafood tomorrow. I will also try to secure a condo for 2018 and hope The lineup I want to see is close to this year. thebrewdude told me he heard if you registeredyourwristband you will get an email to purchase advance tickets.
My cat won't get out of my lap tonight. My parents really missed me. Probably just do seven days next year.
I'll text you my email address. Going for IWW again?
Did you and ne mention possibly doing Peach? Still a possibility? Im Justin who hate liked all Sarah's pics.
Im coming up in July but I don't think Ill make peach. We checking Umph in Asbury, then Gorillaz & Lupe Fiasco in Philly. Other plans may pan out though.
I talked to the BR folks and they said I might be able to get in Island Winds East. The do not have rates yet and would not let me book for next year. I came up short a bar stool somewhere along the line. LOL!

I find it strange that we cant rebook our condos for next year, no date has been announced by the fest and alumni tix where not offered on Sunday. I heard some folks talking about an email for alumni tix, but I have not confirmed. What the quack is GV up to?

Hmm, don't they usually put the date up on the last Sunday? It is odd. Has anyone been able to book through Meyer or Kaiser for next year?
If they move it to Memorial Day weekend, I will cry.
The city would never allow this. Memorial Day weekend is always packed even without a music fest going on. It stays pretty packed from then until labor day weekend. The reason the city allowed this fest on the beach in 2010 was because of the poor economy at the time and they wanted to extend the summer season by one weekend. I can only see them moving it up a week or two. They can't move up to much though, because it would clash with the spring break season.
It think maybe GV and the city may have some issues to iron out. I bet the city wasn't happy with the way the weather situation was handled on Saturday. I read a lot of complaints from the kids that were waiting for shuttles through that storm.
That would certainly throw a wrench into the condo I have booked for next year. The fest has been going on 8 years on the same weekend every year. Figured it wasn't something to be worried about.

I agree totally. Popular opinion is that the city allowed the fest in the first place because of the rooms it would fill up that would otherwise be empty. If it wasn't for that and the money it brings in, the locals would have shut it down years ago. Spring break usually winds up at the end of April. Besides the two first two weeks in May, the only other option I could see them scheduling it would be between Labor Day and the Shrimp Festival, which is always the 2nd full weekend in October. After that, the weather gets iffy.
Dates stay put or get moved late to late in the summer. Won't be memorial day because those rooms sell out already. Won't be any sooner because then it will interfere with too many schools finals, and it seems thats the target market.
Yes, they extended to 2025 to bring GV to the table. However, the city has plenty of out clauses.
According to Brown, the city does not actually approve the festival’s lineup beforehand, but they do have the ability to deny a renewal permit the following year if anything goes awry.
“We’re not censoring this,” he said. “We’d never want to. We’re relying on the quality of past festivals.”
The agreement still requires a site-plan application to be completed annually, which the City Council can deny or revoke based on all facets of the festival, including annual performance.
“(The) franchise agreement has a 10-year life, but each year, the festival comes back for an annual permit,” Brown said.
Furthermore, if the festival fails to perform or meet its obligations, the city will have the opportunity to review and potentially deny a permit for the following year, he added. Brown said Gulf Shores is putting a lot of faith in the festival’s new co-owner, Goldenvoice, which created California’s popular Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival

I dunno, guys. I'm not really leaning towards the lack of loyalty tickets being related to something the city is doing. Does GV offer them at the other fests they manage?
I would bet they are counting their profit. They may not do loyalty tickets in the future. I assume BR will come up with increased rates. I assume a date will be set. I hope they will move a little more towards the middle in terms of the lineup. I did not have a hard time finding someone playing I wanted to listen to. My top ten over the two weeks:
1) Mumford and Sons 2) Sturgill Simpson/Margo Price at the Wharf 3) Weezer 4) Mutemath 5) Jimmy Lumpkin and the Revival 6) Band of Horses/The Head and the Heart in a tie 7) Jamell Richardson at the Hangout 8) Shaggy J 9) Mondo Cozmo/Joshua James/ White Reaper/The Strumbellas/Joseph/Strand of Oaks/Franz Ferdinand/ also in a tie 10) The Inforoo Duo and special guests

Went a bit off the grid this year once the fest had started. Looked for yall on Thursday night, bit must've been looking in the wrong place. Had a blast this year. Security was easy peasy on the west side. Mac Demarco was probably my fave of the weekend, with strand of oaks, Franz Ferdinand, nghtmre, and white reaper being nice surprises. Leavin gulf shores in the am. Few days of work then headed to Nelsonville music fest for WEEN. Hope everyone had a good beach vacation!

Anyone else catch Major Lazer saying they were sure if the festival was going to be cancelled? Talked about that this morning. Brought me back to that rumor from someone
