Haha fuck that. Umphreys rules and Phish will be the best set of the festival. But this Jacket set is kind of the shit man.
LoL Let the butthurt sink in. Phish was boring last night. And David Bowie's cremated remains twitched and shed a tear at the end of their first set.
Not for me. I was probably listening to Starless and Biack Black when those fucks were a twinkle in the sky. As mentioned jam tribalism is Ultra fucking retarded. Dead head looks down on Phish head who thinks Panic is yokel. I could not give a fuck less which is why I attempted to type the amusement I got from reading that and also remembering that dudes gf getting nervous from jazz. I'm still in tears.
I'm not saying the covers were bad, but there were just too many and the show was just all over the place. Not a great Jacket show, but a good one for people not into them yet I suppose. I guess they knew what they were doing.

It was clean as shit though even if they didn't theme it or whatever. I've only seen em 3 times in person, but I've watched a few shows. The musicianship speaks for itself, and they are pretty much as good as it gets in American rock these days in my opinion.
Oh yeah, they are without a doubt one of the best live bands on the planet. I'm just bitching about setlist flow here. The turning point of the show was when they went into Could You Be Loved. White bois singing reggae just kill my boner.
First...I can see Sarah boo hooing for The Shins so make it happen Hangout. Second, Hot Chip = thumbs up except that strobe light gotta go. That make yutes puke. Me no like pukey yutes. LOL.
I missed a few today on the stream, but caught all these: Twiddle was absolute garbage. How can anyone like that shit? ugh Galactic was aight. I'm sure people that aren't completely burned out on them enjoyed it. Hard Working Americans was meh. Just can't get into 'em. Phil and Friends set was amazing! dat Charlie tho...whew lad TTB were great! Probably the best show from them I've ever heard. MMJ is straight owning this fest right now. Infecting young Phish kids ears with real rock n roll and making them question why they're wasting their lives following such an over-rated LIMP DICK band. Guess we'll be seeing moar 3.0 Phish dildos at MMJ and Ween shows now just like we did at Primus shows for the last 5 years. edit: nevermind...show lost steam.
Also, I've watched the ultra brown Ween show from thursday night 3 times now. Holy shit that was incredible. Just straight up painted the place brown and told a bunch of Phish goobers that it was ok to suck a dick since it was a sausage fest and that we're all friends here. Been laughing so hard at Umph and Phish fans talking shit about that show online because they don't get it. Also some solid gold comments in a Ween group talking shit about Umph while they were waiting for Ween on the stream:
"Music blows, but these lights are fucking killing it!!" "Let the lighting guy sing!" "Seriously lighting guy is the best member of the band" "Finish the fucking song already!" "Oh wow this post hair metal cock rock is bad. them shits's like the jorts of music. Bayliss looks like a giant tuna fish with that five head and buck teeth" "the band even looks bored" "This shit is giving me anxiety" "Here comes the climax!" "PSYCH" "LMAO, m' old lady just asked me if this has been one song the whole time" "Who wants to take part in a mass suicide?" "If you have harder bass than a jam band, are you then called a preserves band?" "hey guys. lets take metal riffs but cut the balls off of'em...." "This is like Rush fucked Phish up the ass and had a buttchild that was exposed to radiation." "it constantly sounds like they are about to wrap it up, but NO!" "How many times are they gonna play this song? Or am I that high? Is this real life?" "I don't hate them. I just sort of doubt their commitment to Sparkle Pony" "What drugs do you need to be on to enjoy this? I thought I'd tried everything but nothing fits." "Too many notes" "NOTES NOTES NOTES"
With all the Umph praise in here, I felt like some of you needed to read some constructive criticism.
Im a Twiddle fan. I missed the set yeaterday so I cant comment but from people I have talked to, it wasnt their best set. Ive seen them play a bunch at festivals and Mihali play with others and it is usually a good time.
That said, people either love them or hate them. But they are getting huge in the scene. Their 2pm set at Peach Fest was one of the largest I have seen for a mod day set. It was almost dangerously crowded.
If anyone is still looking for an eastside location this is ours from the past 3 years, it's still available as of today. Not high luxury but literally 100 yards from the gate, ocean view, and reasonably priced.
Speaking of female artists, I'd love to see Thao and the Get Down at Hangout. She put out a new album earlier this year and I think she'd be a great addition to the HOFs undercard. Also everything I've heard from the upcoming Shovels and Rope album sounds awesome and I hope they'll make a return appearance. The duo is only half female, but she is a force!
J Roddy is another alum with an album coming out that I would love to see again. Re headliners, I'll always dream about seeing Radiohead on the beach. It would be awesome to have Pearl Jam down this way again. I think Weezer would be a good fit (can you tell I'm a 90s kid?). And I wouldn't mind RHCP returning. I'd love to see Dead and Co too.
I think Nathaniel Rateliff is a no brainier and Claypool Lennon would be a nice addition.

I think I am near the top floor at the San Carlos. I've also heard it is pretty luxurious. = "high and luxury". My friend booked us cheaper than Island Winds. Island Winds/Brett Robinson sucks for not letting me stay in my alum status. I'd rather be down low. My friend the firefighter told me Orange Beach doesn't have a ladder truck that can reach top floors of most beachfront condos. Hope I don't have to experience a "high jump". Not much pool. Maybe a yipppppeeeee kyyyy Mother......
meraiko....agree on Nate Ratliffe. Saw him at Roo this year and enjoyed the show. Also big fan of Shovels and Rope. I'll have to check out the other bands you recommended. I saw Dead and Company twice. I would like to see John Mayer doing his live "Light" show he played in LA. Gotta be one of my top five live albums. Tedeschi Trucks Band another top live album and performer for Hangout 2017.
the top floors views on the beach are amazing plus you can hear everything from the main stages so clearly. . i miss the 19th floor condo we had on the west side a few years ago.
Sounds like Imagine fest had some bad vibes thanks to the promoters. Lol.
Did you get that off of Facebook? I read the Fireworks one and there was some hippy dude on there whining about everything (an obvious mad idiot) and got called out by some other people who he then claimed don't make as much money as him and resorted to other similar, wimpy war boarding tactics.
I texted E on Saturday, and he told me they were having a ball. His only issue was he couldn't get his phone to charge. I'll see him tonight or tomorrow and ask him what he thought.

Festive Owl Facebook and r/imaginefest have some pretty shitty experiences shared by festival-goers from this year.
Gotcha. I don't really care all that much, but for everyone bitching on Imagines Facebook, there were more defending. I did happen across one story where people got screwed out of VIP based on Fire capacity. That would suck, obviously. Otherwise the complaining I saw was just some bitter people. I'll trust you on FO and /r

Seemed to me it wasn't anything crowd-related and the production was amazing it was just small stuff like shitty and inconsistent security, lack of water early on, VIP not living up to bill. Funny how the Georgia EDM scene has a reputation for this from a promoters standpoint people would expect it by now. Impressive though how the fans keep trudging on through less than stellar experience year after year. Some troopers in the south.
