I've heard this year they are going to go around to bonnaroo fans homes and throw bricks through your windows. Each brick will have the name of an act playing Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival 2016 and then YOU can go onto social media an announce the act! it will be frightening and illegal.

I heard they got a cardboard cut out of Caitlin Jenner in a bikini. Kanye will peel a piece of bikini off every 4 hours to reveal a performer at this year's fest. Get your popcorn ready!

I say this every year but I think that they should just do away with the lineup drop. Instead, release one of two artists a day for a couple of months.
It would keep interest high and allow more exposure for every artist.

Voodoo did something similar a few years back. They released one artist a day during the summer, it did not go over well with the online fans, to say the least. People were losing their minds. And whenever an unknown undercard act was announced people would just shit all over them, demanding headliners or just bigger name announcements.
It sounds cool in theory, but when people are trying to make vacation plans it's difficult to commit without knowing all the artists you could potentially catch.

I guess that I look at it from the perspective of someone who is going regardless of the lineup.

This used to be how tomorrowland and tomorrowworld announce their lineups. It's actually really really annoying.

More annoying than watching people call in to individually find out bands? Or checking MySpace?

I wasn't really trying to compare them, but having gone thru highly anticipating a lineup and having to wait for over 2 months as names are released every other day, it's pretty bad

Yea, Newport did it this way, too, but it was more accepted because that festival sells out right away anyway so people didn't have to worry about planning. Just seeing who is or isn't on the lineup. It was fun.

We've just spent two months speculating about potential headliners. I'd they started giving us names in December and wrapped up in early February, I think it would be fun. Different strokes for different folks, though.

But they weren't even consistent about it. Nobody knew when the next name would drop, or who it was 90% of the time. It was an epic fail and I am still pissed about it. In fact, we started a private voodoo forum the year that happened, because there was also a troll that was saying he worked for live nation and would list all these names that everyone knew wasn't on the lineup. Voodoo not only has never done anything like that since, but they turned off wall posting and you can only comment on their posts now. It was that big of a fail and they caught that much shit.

90% of the folks that were mad about it (me included) buy the presale a year in advance. We are all going. Everyone that was bitching had tickets. The threats of selling tickets and not going were unbelievable. If they had a set schedule and didn't throw out a bunch of unknown bottom tier bands, it might have gone over better. But it was so sporadic, it just pissed everyone off.
