I've loved this festival for a long time. I've always been bursting with optimism. And believing I will go. I'm not completely ruling it out. That being said I have more faith that I will be at gov ball, panorama, Wayhome or even Outside Lands (who probably had the lineup most catered to me in 2016). It's a sad day in my world.
yea are they really just trying to piss off the major roo fans at this point?
or on the other side are they trying to pull in the young kids than drop a lineup with other good undercard on it
obviously i think it's the first one
The problem with the second argument is that people who aren't already Roo fans won't be paying attention to the Roo Clues. The way to do it would be to put out the artists that would get old Roo fans excited and then put out the lineup with all the shitty EDM so that when it's posted around the internet the young kids see it and then they get excited too. But nah. Bonnaroo just wants to become a rager to end all ragers

Well from what I've seen the Facebook people are very excited about all of this so if they are somehow pandering to them it is working. I saw a lot of "OMG! I don't know if I'll have enough money". Because somehow they don't have enough money to catch these acts that come through town bi-annually with a ticket price below $20 but MAY just have around $400 for a ticket to a festival come June.

Alright. Where are the insiders? Can somebody give us a vague fucking clue better than the garbage we're getting? or at least confirm that we shouldn't get our hopes up?
I don't really think that's the case. Coachella still makes a shit ton of money with solid lineups year after year that we all universally love on here. It's just whoever is running bonnaroo now and booking acts has totally lost touch with who goes to Bonnaroo. There's profit to be made with a lineup we'd love, but for some reason Livenation wants to see Roo die.

I agree with this
I'm in my mid-20s and there are still plenty of festivals that manage to put together great lineups for me. Big ones, too.
I just don't get how the people now running Roo can look at the 14 years of success they had and not be able to replicate it

Because they can replicate their other stale events and still make a profit?

I'm 30 so there's a chance I'm turning into Principal Skinner there, but at the same time I thought Coachella's lineup destroyed Bonnaroo's this year. Ditto Shaky Knees, Firefly, and Governor's Ball. Hell even Boston Calling was better IMO and it's like a tenth the size.
Really bizarre to me, what's going on with Bonnaroo right now.
