I just can't see Bon Iver being in the top 3 and them selling more tickets than last year.
I agree. After a year of low ticket sales I'd like to believe they'd book a stronger top 3. Although this kind of thinking is probably going to disappoint me once the lineup drops.
was there any set t his year that had a surprisingly large crowd?
Papadosio had a huge crowd. Seeing as how jambands are dead I'm always surprised at the turnout tent-level jambands still get at Bonnaroo. Dopapod had a pretty sizable crowd a couple years back too, with lots of "young people" in attendance. Papadosio's was even bigger though.
Personally I was surprised at Vulfpeck's crowd size and enthusiasm, going into Bonnaroo I thought only a handful of inforoo'ers gave a shit about them.

I can see it now, Coachella is somehow going to get Daft Punk, Radiohead, and a Prince hologram... while Bonnaroo books RHCP, Kings of Leon, and Jack Johnson

Come on man
Don't mind me, i'm just old and grumpy. I'll probably just go to Wayhome anyways... it's just that this forum is awesome, and I truthfully mean that.

I mean it's not some groundbreaking sentiment, but why even review the album? It's like trying to do a serious review for Nickelback a decade after How You Remind Me.

Well I mean if a festival books kings of Leon two years in a row (firefly) they probably deserved to be made fun of.
Wow. Didn't realize that happened. Put out an article making fun of everyone who went instead.
The first year they were booked for Firefly it got rained out, so they never performed. Last year was a make up performance.
I think it is definitely Pitchfork just trying to stay "cool." I listened to the album and I didn't think it was particularly bad.. Or really good. It was a serviceable standard mainstream radio friendly alt rock album. Nothing ground breaking.
Updated my mock to reflect the headliners of Drake - Arcade Fire - Kings of Leon if anyone is interested. Only really bad conflicts I'm not happy about are Chance and James Blake and Jim James and Ryan Adams.
