Everyone is really that distraught about 3 EDM acts that won't even be in the top 30? Ok.
I feel like this argument has been made ad nauseam, but I believe the underlying issue here is that these are the artists that Bonnaroo are using to either hype up attendees or woo back those who haven't been recently. Judging from here, Reddit, and their Facebook, neither are working that well. It's not only about the three low tier EDM artists, it's about the choice of using them as Roo Clues after an off year of selling less tickets.
That's cool man my parents are deff cool as shit (my mom always tells me Eric Clapton is my real dad) but I'll see y'all as voodoo this year and next year who knows maybe I'll make my return to roo and lolla..just not in the cards this year

while i already had a scare moment of "fuck, i already bought my ticket." i unfortunately still have faith. and it sucks that 60% of their clues are dog shit edm artists with 0% melody in their music... but i doubt they can release more than 1-2 artists worth noting this early that aren't already going to shakey knees, coachella, or any other festival that would conflict. that being said i have a lot less faith than i did 2 weeks ago especially since bonnaroo even fancied the notion of bringing these guys to the festival. i'm also glad i don't have to stay up for sunrise sets at the kalliope stage or look around for #dope sets at the campgrounds considering these jerk offs will do it

It's not just the meh acts. It's last year's lineup plus the meh acts plus livenation as a booker for festivals. You've seen my mocks. I've been bursting with optimism for the entire year. Even if by nature my mocks were too stacked I always tried to include the mediocre that is at every fest. The thing is at livenation fests mediocre isn't the exception. It's the standard. Even when they knock it out of the park with top acts the undercard is mediocre with a few solid or unique acts throughout. Livenation fests have become the Hollywood blockbuster of festivals. While it may be enertaining and you might enjoy yourself it's uninspiring and lacking depth.
