Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I mean, I'd love for Bonnaroo to put together a strong enough lineup to justify Beck being 4th, but the last two years don't give me a lot of confidence.
If you added him to past lineups,he would have been 4th this year, probably 6th in 2015, 5th in 2014.
Well, you were right about LCD this year, sooooooo
That's what people said about Deadmau5 and Kendrick, but here we are. LCD Soundsystem on a reunion tour (as in with a new album) could easily be a headliner, especially since Roo would probably book them the year after they've already played every other fest and tested the waters.
They're just not as big as the bands you are using as examples.
That should do it. I'd say Neil Young, I don't think Bonnaroo has ever had 3 non-American headlining acts.
2013 without the replacement was Paul(England) - Mumford(1920s England) - Petty(Florida).
Even if you replace Jack Johnson, you still might not have three Americas. He's allegedly from the same Hawaiian island as Obama and we all know how easily he faked his birth certificate.
The multiple fests on the farm next year (if it happens) seem to signal that they're not even as invested to make the core Roo lineup as big as past years.
That's not to say that the Roo 2017 lineup can't be more appealing to people here than past years.... buy I think it's a weird year to try and guess the "size" of some of the top billed acts.
I don't think the multiple events will change how Bonnaroo is run. I think it just means they are going to have a couple new fests on site. Maybe even some genre specific fests, or a smaller event. Also that won't be until 2018 if I read the article correctly. It stated that the current contract ends after the 2017 fest and they are looking to add more events in the new contract.

I think if one band is poised to make the jump to headliner, it's the Arctic Monkeys.
I don't understand how they were Sunday at 3(?) in 2014 and coheadlined with Eminem at Lolla that same summer.
That 2014 lineup was amazing, to be fair.
Have they put out any new music since AM? Without a new album I don't see them making the jump.
Alex Turner is currently doing stuff (touring) with the Last Shadow Puppets, but I could see Arctic Monkeys making the jump with the release of a new album as well. They have been making waves and getting bigger with every album.
Probably not happening but I'd love a "Chance the Rapper & Friends" set on the What Stage in the Kendrick/J.Cole time slot. Like he'd bring out most of the guests on his album and it'd be a really special set. That would be something to get people to go to Bonnaroo and it would be something unique. Also Kanye could come out
I'm not buying the genre-specific fests at all. Maybe in addition to Bonnaroo during other times of the year, but not instead of it.
Yea that's what I meant. If I wasn't clear my bad. Bonnaroo will still be Bonnaroo. I was referring to the new fests possibly being genre specific or smaller.
I've always thought an early September fest would be awesome there.

Oh I wasn't specifically talking about you, I heard chitchat about this on Sunday at Bonnaroo from a few people and it's been on Reddit and here too. I was just speaking kind of in general. An autumn festival would be beautiful! I'd try it out depending what genre it catered to.
As a massive Radiohead fan boy, I think Daft Punk would be billed above them. Haven't toured in 10 years and won AOTY for RAM. Plus they have more hits. and its fuggin Daft Punk.

Well, in fact, I wasn't sure which one to write first and I almost put Daft Punk above Radiohead, but ended up deciding otherwise. I agree, Daft Punk is pretty huge, almost never tour, have many hits etc, but I think Radiohead would still be billed above them. With Coachella, this wouldn't be an issue, as they list the headliners separately by each day, but I really would love to see how Bonnaroo place them in a scenario with both of them are actually booked.

I keep reading that if Daft Punk were to happen that it would be 2017. Does anyone think it will really actually happen though, or are the mocks with them still pretty tongue in cheek? It's hard to tell anymore haha

It's not likely, but it's not impossible. When they toured in 2006 and 2007, they played a handful of festivals, including Coachella, Summer Sonic, Pukkelpop, and Lollapalooza.
Given how elusive they've been throughout their career, I would have to imagine so (unless they're one the same lineup as an act like like Paul McCartney or Radiohead).
It's four days after this year's Roo and already we're discussing Daft Punk and Radiohead being billed together.
Buckle up, folks.
but the cup half full version is we are already four days after this year's Roo and there still hasn't been any ad hominem or threats of violence in the headliner thread.
