I just need any two artists in the top 3 out of the following to make me happy: Roger Waters, Radiohead, Arcade Fire, Gorillaz, and Neil Young
And then any 10 of the following to finish out the rest of the top 20: Beck, Jeff Lynne, Fleet Foxes, Yo La Tengo, Primal Scream, Sigur Ros, PJ Harvey, The Avalanches, Pond, Connan Mockasin, Melody's Echo Chamber, Television, Grimes, Skepta, Modest Mouse, Flaming Lips, Pixies, Chic ft. Nile Rodgers, Destroyer, Deltron, M.I.A., Animal Collective, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Deerhunter, Spiritualized, Explosions in the Sky, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Slowdive, Portishead, Massive Attack, JR JR, the Shins, Vampire Weekend, Sufjan Stevens, Anderson .Paak, Morrissey, the Chemical Brothers, 2manyDJ's, The National, St. Vincent, or David Byrne (in any form)
There are many combinations that could get me to commit to a Roo next year. Lets hope they don't blow it

Sadly, I'm already prepared for them to disappoint me. Though, statistically speaking, odds are in my favor that they won't. Since they began booking more than jam bands in '08, they've only released two lackluster lineups. However, those two years were the past two years so we have no real reason to think they're going to break this new trend they're developing.

I'm still bitter about no Jeff Lynne this year. Not that I expected it, but he had a huge gap in his European tour between early May and late June. Plus, he's playing the Glasto legends spot this year.
Where would "David Byrne plays Talking Heads" be booked?
which pre/what pre. pretty much where David Byrne has played Bonnaroo since 2004.
did anyone else catch any of the color guard documentary in the cinema tent this year? I caught a bit when I was cooling down, what I saw was great. hard not to love those kids.

You really need to think about other festivals.
While there are other fests with lineups that align much better with this list, getting two of those headliners is definitely possible and about half of those undercard artists should be in the cards for sure next summer and are artists Roo would/has book(ed). Beck, Fleet Foxes, Sigur Ros, Modest Mouse, Flaming Lips, Animal Collective, Explosions in the Sky, The Shins, Vampire Weekend (headliner if they're playing), Anderson .Paak, The National, and St. Vincent all seem like pretty reasonable hopes

All the acts you listed are definitely plausible, but keep in mind that there were quite a few plausible/"no-brainer" acts that Roo missed out on over the last two years. We're only two years removed from the last objectively great Roo lineup, but the trend over the last 2-3 years is very concerning. It just seems like things have gone downhill very rapidly since 2014, so I'm keeping my expectations low.

Oh, I know. I already skipped this year for Lolla (but can't go because of a work opportunity.) It's just nearly impossible to see most of those artists when you live in the shithole that is Florida.
Being more realistic, out of that list, I could see them maybe booking Fleet Foxes, Sigur Ros, Grimes, Skepta, Modest Mouse, M.I.A., JR JR, and Anderson .Paak next year if I am extremely lucky

I'm pretty sure if you put your mind to it you could get JR JR to play a your campsite. Those guys aren't expensive and are always working.

Take a look at the lineups for the last two years, and tell me if you still think that Bonnaroo is going to book Beck, Fleet Foxes, Sigur Ros, Animal Collective, Explosions in the Sky, the National and St. Vincent all in the same year for the same undercard.
The biggest problem is that they're all around the same size and appeal to the same audience. Replace two or three of them with smaller names of similar quality and I could see it happening. There will just be a decent amount of shitty stuff in between the good names!

Granted you live in Lakeland, so it'd be impossible to see almost any artist anyway.
Out of all the acts you want that are touring actively in America, over half of them either played Florida over the past two years or will be playing FL this year.
