Possible old people Neil Young Gilmour Bruce U2 The Who Phish Rolling Stones Santana Clapton Metallica Ac/dc Guns n Roses Abba Bon Jovi Neil Diamond? Peter Gabriel? Phil Collins? Rod Stewart?
Clapton is out. Santana would be around 4. You forgot Roger Waters, The Cure, and Bob Seger.
ABBA will never get back together for a tour. Maybe they'll do something in Sweden but I doubt that even happens. Agentha rarely gives interviews or leaves the island she lives on. While the extent of her reclusiveness is a bit exaggerated in the press, it's certainly based on real phobias she has. Flying, stage fright, crowds, etc.

I agree it's very unlikely. But they did just play a song together at some event for the first time in like 30 years.

Nice! I was unaware. I knew she'd been talking a little more to the press. I'm pretty sure the pictures of them at various Mamma Mia events were the first pics of all of them in decades.

I mean like you said it's still extremely, extremely unlikely. Would be a super fun show though!

Wouldn't headline
Wouldn't or won't?
Gabriel has a pretty high production show with a high price. On his last solo tour(2012) he played Basketball/Hockey Arenas with some meduim sized Amphitheaters in the US. He would crush a headlining spot at Roo. I'm a biased on him though. However, he hardly plays festivals anymore. Gabriel does what he wants and what interests him at this stage in his life. (I saw him Tuesday and he is great, Sting was great too. I think Sting would headline as well.)
I also think Niel Diamond would crush a headlining spot too. And I think he would demand a headlining spot.
I think Rod and Collins would demand a headlining spot as well.
I agree Santana wouldn't.
However, I think all of them won't. Roo has to want them, and they'd have to want to play Roo. Which I don't see them too eager to do at this stage in their career.

Neil Diamond has been on my Roo wish list since I started going.
I agree though, he probably wouldn't be a headliner. Somewhere in 4-7, I'd guess.

I could see Rod Stewart closing the Which, the rest I just don't think would have the right audience to headline Roo, and so they most likely wouldn't get booked and wouldn't try to. But who knows. I would've said the same thing about Lionel Richie before 2014
Kind of unrelated to the current focus of this thread, but what are we thinking are the odds of Radiohead playing? They seem highly likely to me with them playing ACL, Lolla, and others plus with them being 2X vets. But they really haven't been discussed that much here so idk what the consensus is or whether there is one.
Bonnaroo '15/'16/'17/'18/'19 - ACL '13/'14/'15/'17/'18 - Fun Fun Fun '14 - SXSW '13/'14/'15 - FPSF '16
2019 Shows: 4/30 - Vampire Weekend 6/28 - Father John Misty & Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit 9/6 - Cardi B w/ Teyana Taylor 9/28 - Vulfpeck w/ The Fearless Flyers

Outside Lands too. I believe what's been said is that they almost never tour an album for two years, but it doesn't seem like they're doing a full tour for the album right now, so I feel like it's not out of the question. Arcade Fire seems more likely to me, and while we could get both, I'd think it's more likely we only get one of AF/Radiohead/Vampire Weekend
Am I in the minority in thinking U2 would be a really solid Sunday booking? I like them more than the Dead at any rate
Disagree that they'd be better than the Dead, but the only reason I'd be at all upset with their booking is the cost. I have no real love for them, but I don't find that as completely terrible as some, and they're one of the biggest bands of all time and seem to put on a hell of a show.
All that being said, we're fucking kidding ourselves if we think U2 are playing Bonnaroo before Coachella
From someone raised in NJ. I totally agree with you, I don't want to feel like I've re-entered every bar of my youth in one stroke-inducing expression of revolt hearing thousands of people singing "WOOAH LIVING ON A PRAYER / as;ldfkja;sldkjfasd;flaks (because no one actually knows the rest of the words)"

Ideal (possible) Sunday headliners? And go! Obviously Roger Waters. Fleetwood Mac or Bob Seger would be at the top of my list as well. Paul Simon would be good but I'd see him more of 4th or 5th on the lineup. I'd love the cure as well.
This is where I put in the scary, contrary argument that Phish should be on that list. Because even though they are everywhere touring, seemingly all the time, they are a consistent audience getter/while satisfying the smooth it out Sunday theme. I just don't know if Bonnaroo is willing to drop as much money necessary on any of those acts. Hall & Oates also calls out to me, but somehow I feel like they'd end up getting Lionel Richie'd
Hall & Oats would absolutely get screwed on placement but I've seen them live and I guarantee they could easy close Sunday and people would absolutely love it. They were amazing and have the catalog for that spot.

Coming in 46 pages in. All I know is that I`ve listened to Coloring Book on repeat lately and that I missed him everytime he has shown up the last few years, so bring on Chance.
Not sure how that made it any less likely. But you're right that it's never happening.
I'm guessing he means that Jimmy Page and Robert Plant have less of a (financially motivated) reason to reunite Led Zeppelin with the "Stairway to Heaven" suit being thrown out. Apparently, "Stairway to Heaven" is now worth an estimated $562 million after factoring in publishing royalties and record sales.

Nah, Hall & Oates would be billed much lower than Lionel Richie. They're awesome, but they wouldn't crack the top 10. They were 13th on the Outside Lands lineup a few years ago, right behind Grizzly Bear. I feel like they would either get the ZZ Top/Billy Idol spot (LN tent) or the Earth, Wind, & Fire spot (LN Which).
