I hated this because you went over the top with it and made it beyond unrealistic and the consequential conflicts are so worrisome that it's making my chest tight
I apologize... for.... nothing.
I won't be able to rest well tonight because of this...
I didn't feel like making a mock this year because the lineup just kinda sucks, and most of these real mocks in here are a little depressing. So I was bored last night and decide to make my own lineup/schedule. Just for shits and gigs.
I kept most of the good stuff that Roo did get this year, but mostly just created a brand new fest. Didn't think too hard about it, but actually had quite a bit of fun making it as it definitely caters to my weirdo tastes. There is a lot more psych rock, garage rock, post rock and metal than a Roo lineup would ever have. And I took some liberties with the set times and billed to many big acts, although I kept it relatively realistic since all of these bands are at least touring or have toured recently.
Disclaimer: I know that this thing is what pipe dreams are made of, so don't laugh at me. Like I said, I didn't think about it to much, just kinda of hammered it out for fun.
I'd be interested in seeing what some of your schedules would be. The conflicts are brutal because I basically made it to where I would be happy with staying at any of the stages all day every day.

Literally, the most unrealistically stacked schedule you've ever seen... Like, you almost couldn't even choose based off of whose music you like the most. You'd have to just go based off of the rarity of each conflicting act. But the problem is that still doesn't solve the conflicts. Sorry for going on but that fake schedule is killing because I originally though it'd be at least slightly realistic... I was wrong

C'mon man, that's not even close to the most unrealistic schedule I could've come up with. It doesn't even have Radiohead, Prince, Daft Punk, Sir Paul, etc. It's basically just a super stacked glastonbury - levitation festival hybrid, and pretty much all of those acts are touring this year or toured last year. It's also just stacked for a music lover, a ton of people going to Roo this year would look at that and not recognize 80-90% of the names.
Did you not see the disclaimer? Are you seriously getting this worked up over a FAKE dream schedule? I mean if you're gonna dream, you might as well dream big.
Also, if you're looking for someone to blame, blame bonnaroo because I started to make a mock for this year's fest and it was just too fucking depressing lol.

Hey guys! I'm new to the boards, but I have created a mock schedule using last year as a template. It would be awesome if you gave it a look and told me what conflicts are terrible. I know I've got some, but I think this is the closest I can get to it being real and avoid some of the conflicts I've seen you guys mention.

Fri: The Oh Hellos > Kamasi Washington > FIDLAR > Lucius/Chris Stapleton > Kurt Vile/M83 > Pearl Jam > Tame Impala
Sat: Beach Fossils > part of Anderson East > Nathaniel Rateliff > Jason Isbell/Steve Gunn > Band of Horses > Claypool-Lennon > pit for LCD > Superjam/Ween
(Give LCD longer please!)
Sun: Daughter > Sara Watkins > Ibeyi > Mavis Staples > Father John Misty/Cymande > Death Cab > Dead & Co

The times are the same as last year's schedule except for the headliners on What and Tame Impala and Ween on the Which. They don't follow the same model for scheduling for every year, but I thought it would be pretty close.

i think it's interesting that no headliner is unopposed really, except for Dead & Co.
per your request, conflicts I don't like:
Pearl Jam / Cashmere Cat / Zeds Dead
Chris Stapleton / St. Lucia
LCD Soundsystem / Keys N Krates
Ween / Superjam (although the chances of these two conflicting is extremely high)
Cymande / Sam Bush Band
I also think RL Grime will get a "better" slot, he's a pretty big name. LN or tent closer I think.
1.) Last year, the only night that didn't have headliner conflicts was the Sunday night headliner. I think Pearl Jam could be unopposed, but that would be hard because Friday nights are usually busy.
2.) I could switch Keys n Krates with RL Grime, but then one of those will conflict with LCD Soundsystem. RL Grime is billed higher than Keys n Krates, and so I didn't think they would conflict with LCD.
3.) Also, Pearl Jam will conflict with some sort of EDM, and Cashmere Cat was just around the billing of who played that set last year. I have more of a problem with Purity Ring v. Pearl Jam.
4.) Sunday afternoon with FJM v. Cymande v. Sam Bush Band v. Lettuce is the conflict that I see being really interesting, because I think a lot of people will have conflicts with that timeframe. But Cymande, Sam Bush Band, and Lettuce are all suspected to be Sunday, and FJM would have a bad timeslot if he was buried in Friday or Saturday
Made some changes to the mock now. Gave LCD 2 hours by starting the what stage 30 minutes earlier and moved Purity Ring so they only overlap with the first 30 minutes of Pearl Jam

Sound reasoning all around. Good mock, but now it has me all worried about conflicts again. still good to be reminded of what could happen, helps me to be less disappointed when the actual lineup comes out.

I really doubt J.Cole will get two hours. But other than that good job!
On another note for all the mocks that have Dead & Company for three hours...that doesn't really seem like "2 sets".
In regard to Dead & Co., why wouldn't that make sense? If they were listed 9-12, they could just play 9-10:20ish, break, then 10:40-12.
I think he's suggesting that it isn't enough time... I must say, if it were years past, I would say at least 3.5 hours but I'm thinking 3 is max with the way they've slowly shortened set lengths over time.

Pretty much, I mean three hours could pretty much be one set. If they're advertising two sets it should be 3 1/2 to 4 hours.
Made some changes to Friday. As Pearl Jam is the #1 headliner, I made them unopposed which made Purity Ring move to the other tent, Leon Bridges to the Which Stage, and Chris Stapleton to the What Stage before CHVRCHES. Also, Dead & Co. can play as long as you guys want them to. I made the mock just to personally see what my own conflicts might look like, and I see them having no conflicts.
Also, I'm having a hard time balancing CVRCHES, M83, Lucius, St. Lucia, and Purity Ring on Friday. Do you think Purity Ring and M83 will have a big overlap of fans?

Cymande/FJM/Sam Bush/Lettuce is pretty upsetting considering that's 4 of the best 10 bands on that day, and the 2 hours leading up to that is devoid of anything interesting.

Sam Bush and FJM I think will definitely be in those slots if FJM is on Sunday. Cymande and Lettuce could be moved, but I don't see Cymande conflicting with Mavis Staples because they're 2 of the only "retro" acts this year. So, I will swap Lettuce with Misterwives so Lettuce is before Cymande in This Tent. That'll help a little bit and give Lettuce 15 more minutes.
Th: natalie prass > london souls > vulfpeck > floozies > borns > papadosio F: Con Brio > St. Motel > maybe Lizzo > steve gunn > 2-door cinema club > leon bridges > a little bit of father john misty > a little bit of lucius > pearl jam > kamasi > superjam (assuming tame will be crazy full well before kamasi is done) Sa: Roman GianArthur > knocks > judah and the lion > kurt vile > one 3rd eye blind song > dungen > grace potter > claypool/lennon > LCD > ween > tyler Su: Mavis Staples > Marian Hill > lettuce > haim > band of horses briefly > cymande > miguel > bluegrass jam > dead
love staying in one place on thursday for the most part friday looks like a ton of fun barreling out of the gate with Con Brio the claypool>lcd>ween stretch on saturday would be unreal amazing lettuce on which sunday afternoon would be a huge bummer. no energy left baking in the sun is not ideal for that show
fun overall. wouldnt have to miss much at all besides tame and probably lucius the whole weekend
So this isn't 100% accurate with the most recent schedule confirmations, but I made some adjustments so there could be a fuller late night on Saturday.

Fri: Rayland Baxter > Ibeyi > Jason Isbell > maybe CHVRCHES > FJM/Lucius > Pearl Jam > Tame Impala > Superjam
Sat: Beach Fossils > Anderson East > maybe Lord Huron > Kurt Vile > Nathaniel Rateliff > pit line for LCD > Ween > Lettuce (wish there were some better LN options. Maybe switch Kamasi with one of these??)
Sun: Sara Watkins > Mavis Staples > Haim > Band of Horses > Death Cab > Dead & Co.
This had some brutal conflicts (FJM/Lucius, Tame/Kamasi, Kurt Vile/Waxahatchee/Chris Stapleton, Dungen/Rateliff, BoH/Cymande), hope they can spread those out to fill some of the more dead spots.
