This is where I am. Very excited though and will also be at that set. We should have a meet-up.
I am just now getting into the album. Hung out with my friend and made dinner. Anyway I am loving the album, about half way through now and my excitement growing!
Also I would love to have a meetup! I will probably be doing Oh Wonder before so I'll be trying for a close spot, what's your plan?
I am still working on my plan beforehand, I currently have Oh Wonder, Haim, Nathaniel Rateliff and Macklemore all on my schedule. I have seen all but Oh Wonder, and Jeremy has seen none so he is the deciding factor. No matter what I want to get there early enough to have a decent spot.
It might be one of those half hours of each before heading over to this show.

And I'm not worried about being so close that I wouldn't be up for meeting with you guys! We can hash things out during the fest once you figure out where you're going
Check out this flaming poo bag of a review from some pretentious turd at COS.
I hate that website, but yet I go back. It's like the watching Donald Trump talk. Who can they offend today with the total lack of understanding of life in general.
Rant done.

You stand corrected sir!
This is my most anticipated show that I wont see since I'm not going this year. I'm really really really hoping a taper will capture it *ahem* mstaperperksNSLwillsfc *ahem*
God, that COS review is bad. It's like the guy liked the album, but he's trying to convince the reader that he's normally too cool to be bothered about the album, so he talks smack about Sean Lennon being aimless and how Claypool doesn't care about the music because his fans will buy it anyway. Get over yourself, man.

Wowowowow not sure what annoys me more: The complete disregard for the lyrics or the unnecessary, dragged-out bashing of Sean Lennon's musical career.

Did you guys even read that review? I don't know why you care what some dude at COS said, but he pretty much only said good things anyway.
I read it twice to make sure I wasn't missing anything. He bashed the lyrics- which are very topical and relevant to current drug culture. He attacked Sean Lennon in a sense of your parents are famous so I guess we have to put up with you.
I don't think anybody cares about what COS says or does. I just wanted to pick on COS and talk about how I disagree with his assessment. I really like the album, and if the reviewer did then it really did not come across.

As someone who also writes reviews, you have to convey the quality of what you are reviewing. You can't just give a score. His review of the album was positive, but most of what he was saying had little to do with the actual album and more of his feelings about the artists who made the album. It's fine to talk about the creators of a product that you're reviewing if what you're saying informs your review. Reviews are opinions, but you have to toe a fine line between full opinion and factual information. I simply think it's a bad piece of writing in general. It reads like he spun the album once then jotted down a couple thoughts then padded it with what he thinks the artists' motivations and recording styles were like behind the record.

I mean is he wrong here?
Uh yes...I've seen Ghost of a Sabertooth Tiger a couple of times and it's the real deal. His name could be could be Charles Humperdinck dude's got for real talent. That review was written by someone who is largely dismissive of psyche-rock in general. I happen to be a giant fan of psyche-rock and I think this album is wonderful glorious & I can't wait to fondle it with my greazy paws.
Yeah I thought he was surprisingly kind, considering the quality of most of Lennon's music.
Lennon is carried by Claypool. It should be called Claypool's Lennons Delirious
Not sure you can qualify that statement about on this album. Claypool > Lennon- sure. But during Bubbles Burst, it's Lennon's voice that takes me back to Sgt Peppers era Beatles. And his guitar chops hold up great.
Whether Claypool led everything or not- the results are great.
As far as Lennon's past musical adventures go- I have no defense of that as I have never dug too deep into his tunes.

I'm with you, I think its a good album as well. Just don't think the author is wrong in what he is saying about Lennon

So we finalized our schedule last night (and got our list together, so excited!!) and we are going to Nathaniel Rateliff before Claypool Lennon. We basically have 45 mins after they end and before CLD starts.
