i'd also prefer if they kept the superjam secret until the actual show, would be a lot of fun. and while I enjoyed the Skrillex Superjam and the Oates Superjam, it'd be cool if the Superjam actually had like, jamming. Plenty of musicians on the farm this year that could make that happen.

LES CLAYPOOL LES CLAYPOOL LES CLAYPOOL LES CLAYPOOL LES CLAYPOOL LES CLAYPOOL LES CLAYPOOL
Grace Potter (v), Les Claypool (b), Jon Fishman (d), Jeff Chimenti (k) would probably be my dream SuperJam, but it seems at this point we're at big, multi-faceted 'themed' superjams instead of a one-off band.

Eddie Vedder leading a '70s rock tribute would probably be my top wish. Imagine him bringing in an alternating cast doing the Who, Bowie, Clash, Ramones, Stones, Sabbath and Bruce set?
Can't see Bonnaroo topping that. It's crazy to think a first-year FL festival is beating Bonnaroo at its own game.
Eh, since this fest is put together by the dude who orchestrated all of Bonnaroo's Superjams, that's the one area I figured they'd definitely nail this year. The lineup isn't great, but it's not bad - just kind of unoriginal, basically Bonnaroo 2015 + a few extras. But they've got a good electronic lineup, the venue seems pretty cool, and they've got a promising Superjam, so I wouldn't be surprised if it grows into something major.
For a FL festival, though, it's pretty good. A lot of the additions have helped out, and it's crazy to think a festival in a random venue in FL is booking some forward-thinking electronic acts. I know ticket sales were apparently down, but I hope they can save face and at least turn this into something with legitimate promise.

With all thats gone on with roo this year I would be surprised if they didnt fall on their face with the superjam. Thats why everyone believed the original superjam description on the lineup leak, seriously delivering on some firefly level expectations.
I hope I'm wrong and the SJ has the likes of Claypool, Mayer, Kamasi, ect. Not holding my breath
For as poor as the lineup is there is still some great potential for this superjam with the few bright spots on the lineup. If they don't utilize Claypool, Kamasi, or Lettuce then it'll be a complete headscratcher.

I was publicly skeptical of that first superjam description from the get go. Way too heavy-handed with the weed references to be real.

As someone who was "meh" over the D'Angelo inclusion in Questlove's Superjam, I completely agree about knowing the basics. I would like to know what I'm getting there early for, or if it's actually worth it. Although if it is a surprise, I'm sure I'll still be there in anticipation of something amazing. Mayer and McCready need to be involved, please.
Also, what was the leaked Superjam lineup? I totally missed that

It was for a party act called Super Jam that specializes in Journey, REO Speed wagon, etc (maybe John Cougar?). They posted their promo information on the ap during the initial leak but it appeared to be an amalgam of a couple of different promo releases, leading some to surmise that if was a legitimate booking.
This Is It…the band you've been waiting for playing the songs you want to hear again. Think Busch Stadium, 1982, 5:00PM, and your big sister's taking you to your first concert. She's high and her boyfriend's a douche, but that really doesn't matter…his car stereo is a Kenwood Supertuner with 100w powerbooster. And it sounds good…damn good. As you enter the venue: the Lights, the Sounds, the Smells…THE ROCK!!! Remember when you stood in line at Famous-Barr for concert tickets? Remember when you flicked a lighter instead of holding up a cell phone? Remember when you could see a five-band bill at the Checkerdome for $10? Remember when Sweet Meat actually had a joint in his mouth? And even if you're too young to remember, those days of arena rock have RETURNED. This is the experience and the music that Superjam recreates. Enjoy. Featuring spectacular re-creations of songs by: .38 Special Aldo Nova April Wine Asia Billy Squier Boston Deep Purple Donnie Iris E.L.O. Foreigner Genesis Journey Kansas Loverboy Peter Gabriel Phil Collins Rainbow REO Speedwagon Rush Supertramp Styx The Who Toto Uriah Heep Zebra ...and more

i'm not a big D'Angelo fan either, but i'd heard the rumors before the superjam and showed up anyway. Even though it wasn't for me, it was really cool being there when Quest introduced D'Angelo and the cheers went up from the crowd. I left immediately after that but I left with a smile on my face.
the logical and logistical part of me really wants to know the superjam ahead of time like you, but the emotional part of me that still believes live music has the ability to create awe and delight wants it to be a surprise. a surprise with les claypool involved, but still a surprise.

The Les/Gogol Bordello SJ in '08 is still one of my favorites. I hope that he is involved

Wait, there are people who don't like D'Angelo? I didn't know that was a thing people could be
I'm also indifferent to LCD Soundsystem(insert groans and boos here). I get how people or bands disappearing for a period of time can make them more desirable, but I simply am not a fan. I heard he put on a great show, but I left after he was announced. Maybe I was too quacked and tired and should have given it more of a chance, but the buildup bubble burst for me when Quest intro'd D'Angelo. I guess I was holding out hope for something more amazing like the year they had John Paul Jones, Ben Harper and Questlove.
I'm still happy I stuck with Alice Cooper instead of splittin' my time with the Questlove/D'Angelo SJ that year. "Feed My Frankenstein" made my life complete.
I left that SJ after a couple of songs, too. It was too crowded, I was tired and the music want connecting with me. Alice Cooper worked better for me that night.

And I totally agree plus we hung out at that show too! Alice Cooper was pretty sweet!!

Yeah we had a great Inforoo crowd at Alice that year!

I've seen Alice 7 times (8th coming in May) and that was the most special show I've seen him do, if only because he did "Halo of Flies" and "Muscle of Love", neither of which I'd gotten to see any of the previous shows I'd caught by him.
