This is all reminding me of when Puff Daddy hosted a season of MTV's Making The Band and formed a Hip Hop Group. He ended up giving the final product the lazy name Da Band even though technically they were not a band because not a single member played an instrument. They were a group. Kinda how NSYNC and Backstreet are called boy bands. Anyhow, Da Band sucked, as does this contest. But I enjoy watching the debates.

I think people are being way too rigid on what constitutes a band. It's like Justice Stewart talking about hard-core pornography - I know it when I see it.

The thing is that's not the criteria for eligibility, from OP
I think the only real rule should be that it can't be a solo artist or a solo artist that performs under a band moniker (like Iron and Wine). Solo artists could be a whole separate draft if this ends up being fun.
