Have you ever heard of street team? You can earn a free ticket every year if you just spam your social media with bonnaroo posts. They even have poster routes to do for lots of points. It's probably too late for this year, but if you're concerned about ticket costs it's a good option.
Someone post that one GA ticket with camping pass, fees and shiping was $468. I just ran the numbers myself and it was $465.....so $35 short of being $500. My bad that makes all the difference in the world.

LOL!!!
Check Craigslist around April and May. You will be able to get a much cheaper ticket.

Yes, it is really beginning to get ridiculous, and it looks like even the Street Team program may be coming to an end after this year due to the new Bonnaroo Ambassador program. With that, I guess you sell 8 tickets and you get one free, though I will not be participating.
If the lineup is as crappy next year I won't be going, Street Team or no. Even if I am still able to earn a ticket it will be sold so I can go to a better festival. We'll see how things go, maybe the weak lineup and $$$ grab will hurt attendance enough that they wake up and fix it in 2017.
Price increases + LCD Soundsystem as a headlinear!?!? Nothing against them or people who like them, but they aren't exactly Paul McCartney, Tom Petty, Billy Joel, Radiohead, Jay Z, RHCP or even Mumford. But hey, at least we get flush toilets (though they haven't said how many or where - so you're probably still going to be evacuating onto stinky stuff and blue water unless you want to wait in looong lines, I bet).

Yeah....that's usually my "go to". But crap that's even going to be $350 or better this year probably. I guess they are like Disney....as long as people keep paying it....they will keep going up. Sky's the limit.
So it turns out Weird AL is coming to my town during Bonnaroo.....Weird Al in.....Bonnoaroo out!!! Have fun kiddo's. Hope it's worth $475 just to get thru the gates. LOL!

Unfortunately, with so many new festivals popping up ever week, I expect these type of lineups to be the norm for Roo from now on.
With ticket prices of bigger shows going threw the roof now, the value is still somewhat there but just not as great or even as good as what we are used to over the years. I thought with the 15th anniversary, the lineup would be stacked. I was very wrong.

The other thing I wonder is this: how many tickets that will be sold on Craigslist will have the parking pass with it? I think this will be a problem for some.

It would be bad business if they weren't selling parking passes at the gate. And logistical headache trying to get people to turn around and go back through traffic, deal with people bitching, ditching their cars on back roads, etc.

2016 will be my third trip to The Farm. While some amenities are being added that will go a long way to enhancing the experience, it's crazy that they keep slowly raising the price. That being said though, I find it difficult to put a price tag on Bonnaroo. When you add a GA ticket price to passes/food for the weekend/gas $$ and all the other festival-related expenses, I can understand some people being priced out. Not everyone can shell out $600+ like it's pocket change......
Yeah, aside from the lineup being pretty garbage, I will not be paying this price. Taking my money to Lolla this year: it'll be a bit cheaper, I'll get to sleep on a bed every night, and I'll get to explore a new city! It's pretty funny that tix are already going below face value

Hopefully you live near Chicago or know someone who does. Hotel rooms plus tickets will def be more than roo.

Yes, a family member of the friend that I'm going with lives in the city. I had that option for fests in Chicago and NYC. That is really the main reason why I'm still able to do any of the major fests at all.

Any potential issues with not being the original purchaser if I bought on Stubhub? Not sure if anything is different this year with registering, parking pass, etc.

I would recommend registerin' the wristband in the presence of whomever you purchase the ticket from to make sure you can use it. Also be sure you get their car campin' pass. That's all that should be different this year.
...not priced out so much as lack of talented out. I would pay for the lineup to match the price,
Exactly! $400 + Shipping isn't impossible (though not exactly chump change either) but if I'm paying that much and adding in the cost of logistics, no frills GA and doing TO which to me seems like I'm paying an extra $64 to widen my neighbor's camping area (Could I sublet that space?) the quality of the lineup has to be taken into account now. I can no longer just blindly buy a ticket and think 'fuck it, it'll be worth it!'. Even if I had bought pre-sale which included the camping pass (this year) I'd still feel a bit disappointed.
