Not going for obvious reasons I have posted on the board. It's definitely nice to have the flexibility to go to other festivals like WayHome and Boston Calling. I definitely hope the lineup improves in 2017 for my sake and Bonnaroo's sake.
Also bought presale. Was initially disappointed but the lineup has grown considerably on me.
I acknowledge the fact it is light at the top but I still can't wait for Roo. Probably would still be making the trip if I hadn't gotten presale too.
Would love to start planning Roo meetups for shows we want to see. I have a feeling that will pick up once the schedule gets released.
I've come to recognize I was upset with the lineup bc i didn't know many names. Now that I've done thorough research and have my playlists going, I keep finding songs and artists that would be awesome to dance to or see live on the farm. Struggs Mcdruggs and I constantly are texting eachother when we find something new.
I wish the schedule would be leaked a few months in advance lol weeding out artists is hard to do without the schedule. And last year, we had a group planning to do rail for TOP but they ended up being on the main stage and ruined our plans. I don't want the same thing to happen with an artist we are trying to do the same thing for this year. Maybe I'm an over-planner?
Since I go basically solo, it's nice to meet new people and catch some sets with. So anyone who is down, remember the name!

I'm not going because a cousin's getting married that weekend. Otherwise, I'd be there. I'm not as down on the lineup as many. Since I started going in 2005, I've only missed 2009. I missed that because one of my kids had her high school graduation. (I tried planting drugs in her locker so that she wouldn't graduate and I'd get to go. But I wasn't very clever about it and it got traced back to me. She still won't talk to me and her mother throws things at my head every time she sees me -- which is a lot since we still live together.)
I am ecstatic to be going this year. Even though this will only be my second year at Bonnaroo, I have been to many other festivals and I feel the energy (Vibez) and company are unmatched. Coachella was fun but was a constant fashion show and a popularity contest. L.I.B. was a bit too "Hippy" for me, EDC... Well that was a long time ago and not really my scene and Jazz Fest got so damn expensive after day 1. I am especially looking forward to this year because this will be the first time I have gone to a festival solo. I love the people and conversations had with like-minded individuals, being able to wander from camp to camp, pull up a chair, share stories and a beer is so rare and the late night scene really makes the experience more worth while. Being able to listen to whatever, eat whatever and do whatever... whenever and however really tips the scales for me. I also don't feel old on the farm, I often go to shows and look around wondering "Don't you guys have school tomorrow?" then I get all introspective and start asking myself "Do I belong here?" I never felt that once last year. I look forward to June so much and I have been counting down the days since...??? (See inforoo.com/threads/recent/35016) I hope to meet some of you there...

I'm the same way. Unless it's a headliner I try not to get too excited about an unknown act until the schedule drops. I hate creating conflicts for myself!
i'm going. it will be my third year and i'm pretty stoked about the lineup. there are quite a few bands that i haven't seen yet that i'm really excited for. tame impala, m83, chvrches, vince staples, tyler the creator, etc. i'm also interested in all three headliners for the first time. pretty hyped, and i'm really looking forward to brunch and meeting a bunch of y'all!

I'll be attending this year.
1. It will be my first time back since 2013. 2. LOVE the headliners...think the undercard is okay. It's lacking in EDM and hip-hop, but I personally don't listen to much of either genre. 3. Being on the east coast makes Bonnaroo fairly easy logistically. 4. I have a buddy that I graduated undergrad with who is looking for somebody to make the trip with. 5. I have a $50 StubHub card saved up...that will prob pay for half my ticket come April/May.
I bought pre-sale tickets, so I'll definitely be back! I was initially very underwhelmed by the lineup and I still don't think it's the greatest lineup I've seen, but it does have a lot to offer. I've already discovered more new stuff this year than I had in years past. The headliners don't really do anything for me, but I'm not usually a big headliner fan anyway, so that's not unusual. In 4 Roo's, the only time I was ever really truly excited for a headliner was Elton John.
I really think the only reason I was so underwhelmed initially is because I just didn't know hardly any of the undercard. The more I dig into it, the more I find that I love. Once the schedule comes out, I can really solidify who I want to see.
This is my first year going solo. I'll be sharing a campsite area with NerdByrd, just like we did last year, but I'll be driving down solo. I'm excited and nervous at the same time!
Skipping this year. I'd love to see Dead & CO on the farm, and to a lesser exent LCD but the undercard isn't doing much for me. Plus I can use the $ towards smaller fests.
5th straight, 6th overall. A little underwhelmed by the lineup, but there's still plenty for me to see. Plus I try to take time to drive through and visit some really beautiful parts of the country on my way to and from. It's a whole experience for me, though I'm not sure I'll be able to do it next year.
I've bought presale tickets to nearly all the Bonnaroo's I've attended in the past. However, after last year's lineup, I swore off the presale.
I really want to go to Bonnaroo, I know I'll have a great time. They're just making it difficult for me with the lineup they put out.
Out of principle, I can't give them any cash for this lineup. Hopefully it's a buyer's market, and I can pick up a cheap ticket on the secondary market.
If I snag a ticket for <$150, I'll be there.
Also, the schedule will be a big decider for me. I know in Bonnaroo's infinite scheduling wisdom, they'll conflict half the bands I'm excited about.
If they make LCD, Tame Impala, and M83 conflict...God help me from throwing a flaming brick through the window of The Big Capp Dogg's penthouse.

Comparing to 2016 to 2015 is tricky for me. While I had a great time in 2015, I saw overall fewer acts than I did in 2012, 2013, and 2014, and of those fewer acts less of them were really exciting to me. There were definitely some high points, and some really great memories, but overall the lineup was lacking substance when considering my musical tastes.
For example, the only headliners I cared about were on Friday, but I knew Kendrick would just be OK because I'd seen him before, and I knew deadmau5 would be cool because I've seen him before, but nothing amazing. The other two headliners I didn't care about and caught zero minutes of.
And Sunday there was ONE act I wanted to see, Caribou. Really really weak day for me. Because I've that I didn't even attend Sunday.
Now looking at 2016, while at lineup drop I was disappointed, after checking through some of these bands I'm excited to see quite a few of them. A lot of the lineup feels like a bunch of Thursday bands, but if its a bunch of Thursday bands that are hungry and put on a great live show then it could make for an awesome and memorable weekend. Throw in 3 headliners I'm excited about (literally has never happened at any of six roos I've been to) and I'm feeling pretty good about the whole thing. Also Ween.
This is just my personal opinion, not at all an apology for this undercard, especially in the year of a significant price increase.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Not going because work is a b*tch. I would definitely be there if I could.
Quit your job. Show up a few weeks early and beg for food/booze/tickets from the locals while under the pretense that you forgot your social security card, otherwise youd be on the production setup crew. Go full wook.
2. LOVE the headliners...think the undercard is okay. It's lacking in EDM and hip-hop, but I personally don't listen to much of either genre.
I'm definitely a rock n' roll guy, but when I saw the lineup I was like:
J. Cole - 4th billing overall - decent energy at his shows, but kinda lame MTV rap. Macklemore - 6th on the lineup - corny rap, lame. Big Boi - just a guy who isn't Andre 3000. Tyler the Creator - thank God. Comes across as an angry young man, but very talented.
No idea what we have for EDM, but I was shocked not to see anyone big like Skrillex, Bassnectar, Pretty Lights or even Paper Diamond, given how recent years have gone.
the rock and booze are going to have to get me through. Hope ya'll are ready to party.
Not going because work is a b*tch. I would definitely be there if I could.
Where's the dislike button. Or time fer a Live Nation upgrade with a Super Dislike button?!
And waitingfornextyear, nothin' official just kinda the feelin' I and some others have gotten. Especially with the way they worded the Ambassador promotion, and like F me, I quit America kinda quoted, I just get the idea that this might be the last year.
I mean why spend more money on posters and handbills when you can just have your patrons bug the fuck outta their friends to go with them?
Brian and I will be there for our 6th roo. We bought presale and am definitely warming up to the line up. Not to mention I'm SUPER excited for my roounion with all my favorite friends from around the country

My girlfriend and I attended last year, and we were super convinced that the lineup up this year would be unbelievable. Due to the lineup drop last year, we decided to skip the pre sale until we were proven correct. I'll admit the headliners had me somewhat excited, even if the undercard is truly lacking. However, this on top of the additional parking fee (not a matter of money but timing and coincidence) really took the wind out of the sails. With the rumor of Radiohead hitting Lollapalooza, the decision was made.
Don't get me wrong - if I had the time and money, I would definitely attend both, as I do believe Bonnaroo likely has the best atmosphere of any festival...but I don't. I'll be watching you guys from the couch this year. Keep it poppin'!

I'm going cause a few things
1. timing working for my schedule 2. It falls on my birthday! 3. I love the farm 4. I need it for my soul
Now when they came out with the lineup I wasn't too impressed and I had got presale tickets so I was kinda sad but then I started listing to the acts and got excited. Ellie is an artist I've been wanting to see and I think it will be a great set! Pearl Jam!!! Love it and I'm sorry but I'm super stoked about Dead and Co. My sister got to go see them last year and it just didn't work out for me so I'm glad I get to see them! Also I went to firefly last year and the rainout night made me really needing to go to another festival this year! I love late night and night time and this is the best place as the main venue never closes!! Other festivals don't have that! And I just have a special place in my heart for Bonnaroo. Could the line up been better? Yes but I think it will surprise everyone! Def wish they had a few more super late night acts that I would want to stay with until the sun comes up! Like UMP or SCI or widespread but it's ok I'm sure I'll find new music to fall in love with.

My wife and I have gone back and forth about 3 times due to the lineup and saving to buy a house, but yes we are indeed going this year. #12 for me and #6 for her. See y'all there!
116 total votes 76 yes (65.52%) 29 no (25.00%) 11 haven't decided (9.48%)
Assuming inforoo is representative of the population (which it is not), and assuming various maximum historical attendance figures (left column), and assuming the "haven't decided" votes are "no" votes, the following CY attendance numbers extrapolated to the population (right column):
80,000 - 52,416 70,000 - 45,864 60,000 - 39,312
Again, I know inforoo isn't representative of the population, but assuming it is the above figures would support 46,000 attendance. The reddit poll supports a similar ballpark figure, although that poll has it's own set of flaws.
