Biography: Coming together in 2007, the trio of Trimble, Halliday and Baird would first collaborate musically in a band known as Life Without Rory. After LWR disbanded the three lads from Ireland would begin their own project known as Two Door Cinema Club. They released their first album, "Tourist History", which would garner favorable reviews from critics. "Tourist History" would go on to win the Choice Music Prize for 2010 Irish Album of the Year. They toured the album, including stops at festivals like Leeds and Reading, Pinkpop, Coachella, Bonnaroo and Glastonbury.
The band would record their second album in Los Angeles with producer Jackknife Lee. The album, titled "Beacon", would not be received as well as "Tourist History", though it did still garner generally favorable reviews from critics. "Beacon" debuted at #1 on the Irish Albums charts. Following the release of "Beacon" the band would produce an EP in 2013 called "The Changing of the Seasons" before going on an extended break. Trimble has recently spoken out on social media promising "new music, new shows, new everything."
Two Door Cinema Club is currently working on their third studio album, due out this year. Other than Bonnaroo, Two Door Cinema Club will make festival appearances at Governor's Ball and Firefly.

Physical Reaction/Live Show I saw these guys at Roo when they came to the farm in 2012 and had a ton of fun. TDCC played the This Tent that year (right between Tune-Yards and Little Dragon, that was a good stretch of shows for me) and from my vantage point they filled it out pretty well. TDCC brings a lot of energy and the crowd was really digging it. So much so that one guy even started climbing the beams of the tent so he could hang from the top to watch the show! It was madness. Prepare to dance and jump around because these guys will have you moving.
Interesting Facts - Two Door Cinema Club does not feature a permanent drummer. They do have a guy beating the skins at their live shows. - The name Two Door Cinema Club comes from band member Sam Halliday, who mispronounced the name of a local Irish cinema called the Tudor Cinema. - Frontman Alex Trimble appeared in the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony in London. He performed a song titled "Caliban's Dream", which was written for the ceremony by Rick Smith of the electronic group Underworld. Listen to it here. - TDCC songs have been used in all sorts of other media, including movies such as Soul Surfer and video games like FIFA and Gran Turismo. I first heard them on NBA 2K11, which featured the song "Now I Can Talk". - Trimble has been known to dabble with some DJing. Maybe he will have a Silent Disco/Kalliope appearance this year?
Personal Notes This would be a can't miss act for me if I were able to attend Roo this year. As I mentioned previously I had a ton of fun at their show in 2012. The songs are so catchy and fun. I hope anyone who gets to see them has a great time. Dance extra hard for me!

Seen them three times, definitely going to be a fourth time this Roo, just because Roo is where I first discovered them. Such a fun show, good write up mang.
I have to admit, I had attributed all their big/radio-hit songs to Death Cab. I only realized they were a separate band when I started listening through the lineup. Just an observation for those looking for recommendations based on similar artists.
