You're probably right. I guess I'm just still spotty on drafting a DB in the top 4 and feel like I'd be just as happy with a cheap prime time RB to take the heat off Romo for the rest of his career or the #2 DE so why not grab a bonus pick or two and still be guaranteed one of them?
You're saying you'd want to draft a RB in the first or second?
no, i'd be ok with taking that specific RB if they have traded back and have more picks to spend on the defense later. depends on trade details and where they'd be picking and who else is left as always.

I guess it depends on how the first 3 picks go. If its two Qbs and Tunsil and Jack, Ramsay, Bosa, and Buckner are all there, why not move back a couple slots. Snag one of those guys then an rb in the second or third. I see what you're saying.

They don't need to take a RB at all this year but he would be an instant upgrade on McFadden/Morris/Dunbar and would be cheap for many years where Mac and Alf could be done at any time. They can wait and fill that hole if/when it's needed next year though. Best somewhat likely scenario is QB, QB, Jack then Dallas trades with the Ravens who take Tunsil, Jags take either Bosa or Ramsey and Dallas takes the other.
I'm hoping the Eagles trade up to the #2 for a QB and sacrifice picks for for one these guys.

Ahahahaha, perfect scenario I was really hoping for has improved! The stupid Eagles just have up two 1sts plus a 2nd, 3rd and 4th to take the #2 QB in the draft! Oh my god, hahaha! and here I was sad that Chip Kelly was gone.

Worth noting eagles already had given up Maxwell and Alonso to move up in the first round, and now have used that pick and four others for this. Poor dude is going to have insane pressure day 1

Nah, Bradford will groom him like Favre did Rodgers

Bradford is also prone to under and over throw receivers. I thought Chip was going to cry after he realized this a couple of games into the season. Seriously, I watched the Dallas game and he looked at Sam coming to the sidelines and could only shake his head and frown with his arms folded.
Can't believe the Eagles were that desperate for a quarterback.
I know Bradford is injury prone, but he's still there, right?
I can't believe the Browns did something that is arguably smart. We need a QB but obviously they aren't sold on either Wentz or Goff being surefire elite players. That seems to be the general consensus though, that neither is guaranteed to be an elite talent. So I'm fine with moving back a bit, grabbing extra picks, and almost certainly picking someone like Connor Cook or Cardale Jones later. I would guess they won't pick Lynch at 8, and that he won't be there at 32. Yeah, I'm a homer for Buckeyes, but I do kind of hope they take Zeke Elliot - dude's a beast who even blocks well and has good hands.
For once we are committing to a full, ground-up rebuild, so there is no problem with giving RG3 every opportunity to resurrect his career while a project QB develops. Us fans always buy into the annual BS about every year being "the" year, but we can set realistic expectations for 2016 and deal with what will be a very young team and yet another new coaching staff.
As for Bradford, yeah, he's still there, but I think everyone has learned not to count on him either staying on the field or performing when he does. He might still end up being the starter for some or all of 2016 but I can't blame the Eagles for not trusting him long-term. They probably gave up too much for what will be Goff or Wentz, but Chip didn't leave the cupboard completely bare so I get it.

So are you saying that they'll do smart stuff like that?

Oh no, I'm not saying they will do anything smart, just that the new crew look like they actually could be on the right track. Of course they could still pull a Browns and go 3-13 this year and follow it up with another 3-13 next year, without ever drafting a QB or WR.

"Doing the right thing" will probably involve a few painful seasons.

They recently brought in Paul Depodesta as their "chief strategy officer." He's kinda a big deal. Helped turn the Mets around.

Browns inarguably made the right move for them. They needed more picks to build for years instead of throwing another rookie qb to the wolves with no support from the rest of the team. Eagles only made the right move if Wentz starts for them for a decade.
It still blows my mind that the Saints were even considering Norman. Put Deion Sanders in his prime in the backfield and it wouldn't do shit for the D when you let QBs hold the ball for five seconds at a time.
How well did paying Jimmy Graham all that money go for us? Or Jairus Byrd? Or Junior Gallette?
Listening to a press conference with Mickey Loomis. He just flat out said there was never any talks by the Saints with anyone regarding trading up for the #1 overall pick. He sounded pretty convincing.
