Can't wait for Brock Lobster to Matt Flynn the shit out of the Texans.
I was thinking Ryan Mallet might be a worthy comparison. How about Scott Mitchell? He could be a very slight step up from those two and earn comparisons to one season wonder Matt Cassel, only without the one good year filling in for an injured Hall Of Famer on a well coached team to earn his payday.
DeAndre Hopkins is one of the better receivers in the league right now, but the Texans don't have a better pair than Thomas and Sanders.
Osweiler going to the Texans is still a head scratcher to me. He wouldn't have had to do a whole lot to be successful in Denver with that D backing him up. Money talks though.

You mean, lose his job to a 3rd round draft pick who winds up making the playoffs each of his first four seasons, winning a Super Bowl, and leading the NFL in passer rating?
I fully expect Brock to start and finish the season, but I'd give him a 10-6 season at best. I just think the Texans should've played their cards smarter rather than throwing that much money at a guy who's started 7 games. But that's the modern day NFL I guess. It's the same way in European soccer nowadays, ridiculous number of zeros on transfer fees for potential rather than actual performance in a player.
I think that he was insulted by Denver's approach to his contract. The rumor is that their first offer was very low and their final was still lost than the Texans.
That Houston has been buyer while Denver has been losing free agents and that may have helped, too.
Finally, the AFC South looks like it will be less competitive than the West.

I actually think it's gonna be a pretty good place for him. They've got a great defense. Just signed a Lamar Miller to run the ball I forgot about Hopkins, I'd say he's a top 10 receiver.
If anyone actually watched him play last year, his stats probably should have been much better than they ended up. It seemed like every game our receivers were dropping perfect throws. Plus he got to learn under two of the best quarterbacks of all time for four year. Who knows but I hope does well!

True, there are much worse places he could've gone, and I agree that D. Thomas drops way to many passes and also seems to shrink in the big games.
So Denver fans... Kaep, RG3, Fitzpatrick, or Draft?
I would be excited about Kaep, hoping we stay far away from RG3 and Fitzpatrick. I also think we should draft someone though.
I trust Elway in whatever he decides though.
I fully expect them to draft Dak Prescott. I remember reading that Elway liked what he saw from him in college and from his workouts so far, and I could see him being a decent pick for them in the 3rd round or so.

Yeah, definitely expect to draft one in the first 3 rounds or so.

Ted Thompson spent the first day of free agency at Wisconsin's pro day. Our poor Milwaukee radio sports talk host killed as much time as he could talking about other teams before saying "screw it" and turning his three-hour show into an Ask Me Anything session. I heard more about planning weddings than the Packers.
