Weezy F baby and the f is for phenomenal
Lil Wayne will always be my favorite rapper just because of how his music shaped me when I was in high school. Without Lil Wayne, I wouldn't be into all of the music I'm into now. I probably wouldn't have been so big into drugs, but thats aside from the point, I am who I am now because of Weezy mothafuckin baby.
Still surprised at some of the names not taken yet...this guy fuckin' slays though. I don't think I've ever heard a bad Big Pun verse. Dude has impeccable flow and his multisyllabic rhyming abilities are insane.
I know the first time I heard this verse on "Twinz" I had to rewind the part at 30 secs in just because the way he rhymes it is so cool.

I was gonna pick him up, but then black bush selected Madlibs and I figured that planted the seed of Gibbers and din't want to be without him. Maybe Gibbs could have lasted another round and I could have got Big Boi. I'm jealous bruh
AKA the half not responsible for Outkast's breakup. The half responsible for Speakerboxx and not the mess known as The Love Below. The half responsible for better songs on Idlewild. The half responsible for a great solo LP (Sir Lucious Leftfoot). The better live performer.
Way overlooked because he didn't wear kilts and shit.
All in all played a major role in 6 fantastic albums, 3 or 4 classics.
Wildly overrated because of a couple singles imo. Would put it easily behind all of their other albums sans Idlewild.
Are you saying that singles shouldn't count towards rating an album? "Hey Ya" is one of the most popular songs of the 2000s, and "Roses" is definitely a great song in its own right. I found both Speakerboxxx and The Love Below to be strong albums, but I prefer the latter. Speakerboxxx seemed to drop off for me after the first half.

'Straight Outta Compton! Crazy mothafucka named Ice Cube'
Pretty surprised Cube is still on the board at this point. Putting aside what he has been up to in the last decade with the goofy family movies and such, his 90s output is as good as anyones. Obviously his verses with N.W.A. are off the charts, but also, his first 4 or 5 solo albums are absolutely incredible. Not many others attacked the mic with the power and ferocity that Cube brought, and probably only Chuck D could surpass Ice Cube's importance in making Hip-Hop a vehicle for making political and cultural statements.
That opening verse on Straight Outta Compton might be the most recognizable verse in all of Hip-Hop.
And he also penned arguably the greatest diss song in history when he absolutely shit all over the other members of N.W.A. on 'No Vaseline'.
