I received an email from Bonnaroo today. It said they noticed that I had not bought tickets this year unlike in the past and asked me to conplete a survey. The survey ask about cost and the lineup. It also had me list other festival lineups that I prefer.
Received the same survey. Another sign that tickets sales must be way down. However, they had to know this lineup was garbage before rolling it out. It is lack luster by even much smaller festival standards and when you combine that with a large uptick in ticket cost/parking fees that it was a recipe for a hugely down year.

Yeah I just filled it out. On that one page where you could click other and fill in your own answer, I wrote a paragraph telling them that with the exception of the headliners and Tame Impala; the lineup is lackluster compared to previous years (litterally not one electronic act I would care to see, mediocre hip hop, and no rare acts that I couldn't see locally). That plus the increase in price made me feel Bonnaroo was no longer a bargain and why I chose to not attend. Listed Coachella, Outside Lands, and Primavera as fests with better lineups.
I told them I passed on a ticket because the lineup didn't have Fetty Wap, Future, Drake, or Young Thug, and that I was disappointed that Jack U or Bassnectar weren't on the list. Said that while I was happy they had the Chainsmokers on the lineup, me and my 20 friends weren't coming back to Bonnaroo until they made adjustments to fit the music we liked. I listed EDC, Ultra and Firefly as having better lineups.

I did find the questions interesting. It's almost as if they were trying to determine the lesser of two evils - lackluster lineup or higher ticket/experience prices.
I guess optimism could be gleaned by some about the ability to supply input, but I feel the opposite.
This will be used to even further pinpoint the exact tipping point between shitty lineup and ticket cost.

"Hey, this lineup isn't as good as other festivals (or past Bonnaroos) and now you have to pay more for it! Why don't people like this? We promised parades and other shenanigans! Should we bring back the dancing dog?"

"We are going to learn so much from the people who already purchased tickets to this shizshow."
Yeah I filled out the survey as well and noticed if you said you weren't plannin' on attendin' this year it asked you a lot less questions. Like y'all I told them the increased ticket price and lame lineup were totally not keepin' with the "positive vibes."

i wonder if we got the same survey because mine didn't give me many options to input text. it was mostly multiple choice so i was often forced to select an option that didn't really reflect the opinion i'd like to have given

Are you going this year? Seems like if you selected that you weren't attending it gave you a bunch of other questions. Also the last option in most of the multiple choice questions was usually "other" and allowed you write in whatever you wanted.

In case anyone here was wondering, the surveys questions were based off the third question: "Have you bought a ticket to Bonnaroo 2016". If you answer anything but "No" it brings you to the end of the survey. I work with marketing and surveys and all this bullshiz.. the survey was what we call an "NPS" (net promoter score) and it clearly means they're worried about ticket sales. The lineup was not up to par, they know that, but it doesn't mean they'll really "know" it until the numbers are in front of their faces. Company I work for is the same way unfortunately..
