So, basically heres the directions Ive gathered so far...
I-95 South to 495 South to I-95 South again to I-495 West (exit 27 - Capital Beltway) to I-66 West (exit 49 toward Manassas/Front Royal) to I-81 South (exit 1A toward Roanoke) to I-40 West (exit 1B toward Knoxville) Continue straight onto I-75 S (Chatanooga) exit 2 to merge onto I-24 West (toward Chatanooga/Birmingham) exit 111 for TN-55 (toward Manchester/McMinnville) turn right at McMinnville Hwy (55 East) turn right at ragsdale rd turn right at new bushy branch rd
does this sound right to the people who have done it?
As your attorney I advise you to drive at top speed and it'll be a Goddamn miracle if we get there before you turn into some kind of wild animal. Are you ready for that? Checking into a Las Vegas hotel under a phony name with the intent to commit capital fraud with a head full of acid? I certainly hope so...
it kinda depends on where in Philly you're coming from. It might be better to take the Turnpike to the Carlisle exit and pick up 81 south there, just to avoid going through The Baltimore/DC traffic mess. That's the way we go every year.
can someone tell me exactly how to bypass there then? Im stupid with directions beyond PA.... I have driven to Florida once though, down 95 the whole way and it wasnt too too bad

Do you know how to get to the PA turnpike from where you live. If you do, just take that past Harrisburg to the Carlisle exit. You'll see signs for 81S. Follow the signs. Hit 81 and that's that.
Thanks guys, I looked it all up on google maps and it makes perfect sense.... much quicker as far as traffic is concerned and its actually almost the exact same miles... should be good, have fun all

what time are you leaving Philly? we leave our house, between Philly and B'more, around 6pm wednesday night and drive down, not too bad traffic wise last year.

I visit family every year from nashville to philly. I almost always take 81 up to the pennsyvania turnpike (76). Save time and money becasue of all the road tools thru DE and MA and DC. It's a more relaxing ride with less traffic, but a little boring thru VA...........depends on what you want more of..........I like the 81 route......it's more direct. When you get to I-40 off of 81, take that too I-24 east and just follow the signs to Manchester.

last year it seemed like 10 down and 12 back but back was over two days. Sunday night for an hour to Chatanooga and then Monday teh rest.
We normally were between 80-95 MPH i think. we left probably around 7ish and got there by 5am and stopped at the waffle house for breakfast and then into line.
since im going down on thursday night into friday, i probably wont have any bonnaroo traffic to deal with either... just keeping my fingers crossed that im not way way far away from centeroo

I think last year we did 95 south to baltimore then 70 west to 81. Going 76 west to 81 would probably be way better.
Don't know if I know you or not but that's actually real close to where I live, like within a mile or so. We probably at least know some of the same people. My name's Shawn.
