Ok, I don't want to get slammed for this question. I just need some recommendations. This will be year 14 for me (missed first year). This is the first year I haven't known a single artist on any given day. Maybe because nearing age 50 I'm nearing the age of musical obsolescence....I hope not. I would really love to get some recommendations on who I should see Thursday. I honestly have never heard of any of them. Peace!

Here is a spreadsheet of the schedule annotated with the genres of all the bands, using inforoo crowd-sourced genre labels.

what kind of music do you like?
I fell in love with MMJ after hearing their concert soundtrack from the first Roo. I was mesmerised by Loretta Lynn in 2011 when she plated Bonnaroo on a hot afternoon. I was inspired by late night sets from MGMT and Umphreys McGee. I I have been empassioned from a show by Civil Twilight. I was in awe from shows by Paul McCartney, Lionel Richie, Tom Petty, Alabama Shakes and Bruce Springstein. I just love great music!
A show that I am confident will be just as mind-blowing as it will be under-attended us Con Brio at 4:30. They wowed at ACL this year, and I'm sure they'll do the same this year. London Souls and Vulfpeck are also sure to be special.
Bonnaroo '15/'16/'17/'18/'19 - ACL '13/'14/'15/'17/'18 - Fun Fun Fun '14 - SXSW '13/'14/'15 - FPSF '16
2019 Shows: 4/30 - Vampire Weekend 6/28 - Father John Misty & Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit 9/6 - Cardi B w/ Teyana Taylor 9/28 - Vulfpeck w/ The Fearless Flyers

I caught Con Brio at a small setting in Lambert's BBQ and the frontman is a powerful performer. Roman GianArthur (who I caught a bit of at Day For Night in Houston this past December) is just as, if not more powerful. He will play multiple instruments and has great crowd interaction. I was shocked they were scheduled to play at the same time as each other, being so similar. Roman starts 15 minutes earlier and I don't know that I'll be able to pull myself away once he gets going. I'll probably swing by and catch the end of Con Brio. If the start times were switched I would probably do the same and stay for all of Con Brio then see the end of Roman.

For a different great show that may be underattended, Roots of a Rebellion are playing Miller Lite stage at 5. Reggae band that blends pop and rock into their act. They won a battle of the bands type contest to get to play Roo.
I will be there and after seeing then live recently, I have been recommending them to everyone.

It's hard to put any artist on Thursday against most of the shows you have attended in the past but...... Con Brio or Roman are fairly can't miss, Wet, Borns, FKJ, Floozies, Papadosio and Vulfpeck are all pretty easy on the ears. If you want to see something a little more distinct Lizzo, Twin Peaks, Bully, Hinds, Hundred Waters all are interesting to me.

This is the first Thursday where I don't have a dynamite sure fire must see! Last year I had Bears Den, Ryn Weaver, Tove Lo, and Grammatik. Had to miss Jungle and Mac Demarco! Caught Jungle the next week so all was not lost. This year Vulfpeck is high on my list as is Borns and The Floozies but if I were to miss them it's not the end of the world. Just is weird for me this year

This sounds right up my ally! Thanks for the band info. I'll see you there Pondo!

If it wasn't for the Thursday night dinner in VIP, the choice between these two would suck so bad, but good free food wins over 99% of most things.
Hey pondo ROCKS , dreamingtree , & robinbobin .... just for you hot off the press! I can't agree more in regards to seeing Roots of a Rebellion kick off Bonnaroo Thursday evening. These are 6 of the best dudes and one of the best live bands you'll see around Nashville and anywhere else these days. Pondo gave a good description of them, however I wouldn't say "pop" at all... really more reggae/roots/rock/dub.... Anyway, I'm going to post something in the Band a Day forum here shortly, so be sure and check that out.... but in the meantime, be the first people to see this video from The High Watt in Nashville last year --->
