Talk about your latest round of golf here. You can talk about real golf too if you want, but that's much less interesting to me. Let's get all the golfers tagged in here. I only know one: justinmn9319. I'll edit as others express interest.
So I'm around a 12-14 handicap, been hovering at the top of end of that all year as I've yet to get anything going really. Yesterday was finally a breakthrough of sorts, I went 42-38 for an 80 and had a birdie on each side. The blemish on the back, as I posted in random thoughts, was the random 6 iron I hit into the 17 green that ended up going out of bounds, which led to a triple. I guess I also missed a 5 footer on the hardest hole on the course that was for par, but it was downhill and all kinds of slippery and it's a good feat just to be on that green in regulation.

love it!
honestly the last time i played i had the 2nd best round of my life. was on fire on the front and made a bird and 3 bogies for a 38 and came home in 45. was up north with 3 buddies so was a lot of drinking going on so obviously the back nine slid a little bit but for me an 83 is awesome, i've only shot an 82 as my best score years ago. idk my exact handicap but i usually shoot from 85-95.

I'm excited because my uncle is coming to Pittsburgh today, from Kansas City, and he used to be a scratch golfer but is around a 2 now that he's 65. He's my swing coach, so to speak, and we're planning on playing 2-3 rounds this holiday weekend.

It's nice to have somebody like that! yea in my good round i just found a good stance and got my hands far away enough from me on my driver and was just puring it down the middle
We actually put an offer in on a house in Nashville. Our backyard would back up to the 5th fairway of Shelby golf course. Man I'll be stoked if we get the house. Then just buy a used golf cart and play every weekend!

be careful with a house off the fairway if i'm out there, especially if it's on my slice side
sadly i don't have a ton of days of to be spending as i can imagine we all don't live south of minneapolis/st paul a half hour
Some of us do! Well at least one close to that - I'm in Bloomington. I'll participate in the First Annual Inforoo Open if it's in the Twin Cities area.
My golf game is nothing to look at right now. I used to regularly shoot high 80s/ low 90s 10-15 years ago but then came a kid and a more demanding career and now I'm lucky to play 2-3 times a year and the results aren't always pretty. It can range from semi-competent to downright ugly. But I'm always open to an excuse to play more.

My best friend has either a Lakeville or Rosemount address.

Not far ar all! I haven't played there for years but I always used to like Valleywood.
Do you go to a lot of shows at the zoo since you are right there? I usually get to one or two a year but have nothing on the calendar yet this year.

Shot a 78 today and beat my dad. Went 38-40. Had a double on 12, 13 pars, 4 bogeys. Couple good runs at birdie putts that didn't fall, but I did make some good par putts.

it's all about converting those par putts, especially for up and downs
I would have loved to play over this holiday weekend, but the weather here in St. Louis has been non-stop rain since Saturday morning.
I'm not very good by any means, my average round is a low 90s. But I love the game.
I made the best shot of my life the last round I played. 18th hole, par 4, second shot, 140-ish yards out, used a 7-iron and laid up about two feet from the hole. Putted it in for birdie. After we finished the round, some of the men at the clubhouse even commented on how nice that shot was. That made me feel pretty damn good.
I'm hoping to get in two rounds this week. Played three years on my high-school golf team, then hardly played at all four years in a row during college. This summer has been the most golf I have played since high-school, but I still shoot in the mid 90s on average. Very inconsistent with my big clubs (3 wood, driver) off the tee.
I tend to get intoxicated on the course, which can be good and bad at the same time.

Spent 8 hours on the golf course today. 9 holes then the 9 hole scramble for the league. Didn't hit the ball real well, putted pretty nicely, lost the putting contest by like 6 inches.
Played 9 holes today, I tried to convince my group to play 18 but didn't have any luck (the heat was doing me no favors). Finished the round with a par - boogie - par to grab the W for the day. The two that I was with are nothing to brag about when it comes to golf...always nice to win one though.
Putting kills my game. My dad and I often go up to this course that most golfers would not consider a golf course. No dress code whatsoever, no clubhouse, and all of the greens are more or less indoor carpet. The positives are you usually have the course to yourself and it's great for practice. You can play 5 balls a hole and never get called out for it. You pretty much though go the whole day without getting the putter out...as the only strategy on the green is to barely tap your ball and hope for the best.

Didn't get any golf in this weekend, which is unfortunate due to how to nice it was outside. One of my close friends mom passed away Thursday night, had the services to attend and spent some time with him.
Plan on getting a mid-week round in at some point.
