I just saw him with Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds on Wednesday. It was amazing. Noel was lots of fun however I felt like he kinda dialed in the set. Ryan Adams was amazing and I think he would be perfect at Roo. The fact that he is playing every other AC/e festival wouldn't surprise me if next year he's at Roo.

Saw him last night at Forecastle, he was incredible. The set list was perfect with the acoustic encore of Sweet Carloina and Come Pick Me Up as personal favorites. He'd be perfect as a which stage closer or possibly as a Pre-HL but I'm just not sure how much he'll fill the What fields. Most of the people I talked to only knew him from his Wonderwall and Taylor Swift covers which is disappointing to hear.
Ryan's definitely an artist Roo has dropped the ball on the last two years. He's been touring pretty regularly, playing a lot of other major US fests including ones put on by AC (Forecastle, Sloss) and Superfly (Outside Lands). If he's touring next year and Roo doesn't book him I'll be a little surprised and bummed. A closing Which spot seems like where they'd put him. I'd just hope it was into a headliner I didn't care about or didn't need a good spot for. I could definitely see him playing Which into Phish closing on Sunday, a la Ween and Dead & Co. this year.
Side note: I happened to have stumbled upon a recording of a show Ryan and the Cardinals played in NYC in 2007 and am listening to it right now. Wish I'd been old enough to go to one of his shows with them!
