DJ COCO's closing set is like a major celebration between the patrons and producers. You'll see all the employees of the festival up on stage losing their shit as the sun rises over the ocean. It was one of my favorite sets of the whole festival last year. Quick video I took. This is at like 5:00AM and it was absolutely PACKED. I feel like everyone was there.
The only Frank replacement I will settle for is Kanye.
Getting pretty nervous. Can't think of anyone that's realistic that I would actually be happy with. :/
QOTSA first show is June 22 so maybe they could be ready a few weeks early. If they're trying to stay with a similar genre then I could see Kendrick getting booked but I just saw him. Chance of Gambino could also be possible but not really on the same level.
What other possibilities? Bjork makeup show from when she had to cancel?
What are people doing for transportation to/from the fest? Is it true that the train is shut from like 2 AM to 5 AM so if you make it past 2 AM, you're there til 5?
There are tons of taxis outside the festival. Fortunately last year I was within walking distance to the hotel so I dont have any experience with the trains.

Could be somewhat related to Arcade Fire? The festival boss has said that the band will play new material, and considering he has mentioned surprises since December or January, I think they planned to surprises since long ago.
I had the chance to speak briefly with Primavera's Head of Booking back in November, before the lineup came out, and he specifically told me the criteria to book an act for a major spot is a new release since the last time it has played. AF headlined the Thursday in 2014, during the Reflektor tour, have yet to release LP5 but are rumored to release something before their tour opener in PS.

I'm going too but will probably skip this. 1 PM will probably be prime recovery time Fri/Sat and don't want to give up some site seeing I have planned Wed/Thurs to try to make it happen.
Cool idea though and if you're into it, I'm sure it'll be a great experience.
