Going to be in Nashville for Jason Isbell and John Prine, but I saw earlier today The Infamous Stringdusters are doing their usual two-night run at The National in Richmond for New Years (12/30 - 12/31).

Webster Hall in NYC is getting Griz + Gramatik (Grizmatik?) to do a late night NYE set at 3 am.
Whats crazy about that is Griz already has a show on New Years Eve in Asheville, NC.. and Gramatik also has a show that same night in Birmingham AL.
To come from that far down South to NYC by 3 am is completely insane. Whatever you think of those two, they are hustling their asses off that night. Good for them.

How in the hell can they pull that off?
Also, I can't imagine going to a show that starts at 3 am...unless it was a festival.

ODESZA did something similar this year, playing Decadence and then flying over for the Jukely after party.
I'm pretty set on going to ReSolute, but Marcel Dettman at the Schimanski is tempting.

I spent New Years at Webster a few times in my younger days. They go till 6 am and if you make it till the end they have complimentary coffee and bagels.

This ought to be pretty great. Both are completely underrated in my opinion. Some people always want to lump them in with the "shitty EDM" on the rest of the card, but no way. Neither one ever disappoints. And both almost always have live instrumentalists (Gibbs is almost always with Gramatik, and Muzzy Bear is almost always with GRiZ at least this year). I try to see both of those acts whenever I can. Plus Grizmatik rules, and no doubt they will bust out a song or two.

Gramatik is opening for Bassnectar in Birmingham, so he could leave right after his set. However it looks like Griz is the headliner at his show, so I guess he'll leave at 1-2am?
They've got to be flying private right? I don't see any other way you make it on time. You're definitely not flying commercial. Birmingham and Charlotte are a 14 and 10 hour drive from NYC, respectively.
Luckily caught them twice in 2014. Coachella I was about 30 feet from the stage but I had a better time seeing them completely by myself at Hard Summer way in the back. I have no desire to see their live set anymore unless their next project is good.
Probably not hugely, but I would be sour listening to Caracal songs live.
I've seen a DJ set by them since Caracal was released (it was during ACL weekend last year) and it was really good. Even their live show last year was great, but the DJ set was much more centered on the house sound of their first album.

Ahh okay that is good to hear, I'll have to catch a DJ set by them soon then.
I'm not a Caracal fan so I would have only enjoyed their Settle tracks, and after having seen their Settle set twice I just don't care for their new set because I'm gonna get half songs I like, and half I just am completely indifferent to. DJ Set on the other hand I would love to see, especially if it's anything close to their b2b with Skream.

Superego and Magnets are the only tracks off of Caracal that I still listen to on occasion. That album definitely wasn't nearly as good as their previous releases... The NYE show is def on my radar. Still haven't settled (no pun intended) where I'll be yet. Still holding out hope something better pops up around NYC.
FWIW, I saw them over the Summer and they crushed it. Their Coachella set was fine as well.
Their Coachella set was extremely boring.
Honestly it wasn't much different any other show I'd seen. It probably helps that I had realistic expectations going in & I actually enjoyed some of the last album + my SO was ecstatic.
