Got lucky on craigslist and found some face value tickets for Jason Isbell and John Prine. I'll be at that show on NYE and Widespread Panic the night before at Bridgestone Arena.

That's weird how Columbus is getting snubbed for NYE shows. Cincy isnt that far if you're into Dopapod though. I'm planning on going to both nights ($30 for both nights).

I've just seen Dopapod SOOOOOOO many times that it doesn't excite me enough to drive down to Cincy.
I didn't think the Justice DJ set I saw was that great.
Did you see it at a festival or in a room? I thought it was pretty great the two times I saw them this year; once at a warehouse in BK, the other time at a night club.. This show could very well suck though.
Pier 94 blows its huge and narrow and they tend to oversell it. Very easy to get stuck in a horrible spot, and the sound quality is worse and distorted the further back you are. Plus it tends to attract some of the most vapid people.

Just scored comp tickets to Justice, Hot Chip, and Crystal Castles tonight... Very glad I didn't actually drop $80. Feel like theres a high probability this show is gonna suck.
Forgive the blatant and spammy self-interest, but I just wanted to put it out there that any new Lyft rider who downloads the Lyft app and uses the promo code "Inforoo" will get $15 towards their first rides (they split it up over three rides so it's $5 off per ride). And I get ten bucks for each person who does it.

How was it? First time at Output last night for us, fell in love.

Kamasi was excellent last night. I'll be back at Brooklyn Bowl tonight for Animal Collective's DJ set, a little bummed Panda Bear's not part of it but should still be a great time.
Ditto for both nights of Pretty Lights. He got most of the good songs like Yellow Bird, Where Are My Friends and other classic PL tunes along with a great current version of his live band who improvised here and there. Both major raps/freestyles were good. And he tricked out a few covers and mashups like John Denver's Country Road, Pink Floyd Time and Allman Brothers vs Clapton (Midnight Rider/After Midnight) and Nine Inch Nails/Radiohead.
Setup was awesome with the new and improved Ballroom Lights and Lasers, the dripping water in front of the stage that acts like a canvas and stellar sound. For anyone who hasn't seen him in a while, this tour is highly recommended. They botched the NYE countdown which was a minute or two late, but it's all good. We had fun. Show went late and opened up into a massive rain storm. I wanted to stay out, but the rain ran everyone into wanting to get home because of everyone being soaking wet. I had a missed call around 4am so I'm assuming I missed a secret set?
The Lone Bellow were fantastic. They're of my favorite bands and this was one of the best times I've seen them. Couldn't have picked a better way to end the year. The Animal Collective DJ set at Brooklyn Bowl was also really really good. Had a fucking blast there. A decent amount of people were either expecting an actual show, or for them to be on the stage, so I noticed many a disappointed face by the end of the night, but I thought they killed. I had a similar experience when I saw Questlove do a DJ set there, but I feel like people could have asked someone around them what was going on after the DJing started and they clearly weren't setting up anything on the stage.
Had a great time in Nashville over the weekend. Caught Widespread Friday night, it was pretty cool to see them open with Porch Song....it was a fun atmosphere being on the floor level as well. Would have loved to saw the show the night before at the Ryman, but I did get take a tour of the building yesterday. Seeing Jason Isbell at the Grand Ole Opry last night was pretty special, he sounded fantastic. Really enjoyed seeing John Prine play "Angel from Montgomery" with Kacey Musgraves and "In Spite of Ourselves" with Amanda Shires. I was able to snag this sweet poster which I have already seen on eBay getting bids for $150+
Did Nashville Panic on 12/30 and 12/31. The 12/30 show was very solid both sets, but the 12/31 show was out of control. String section, horn section, backup singers. One of my fav panic shows ever. Great setlist too
Also want to hear the Gov't Mule NYE show as that setlist is bonkers.
