Levitation is a pretty big brand as far as music festivals are concerned. I guess it's hard to recover after canceling the fest the day before last year.
Perhaps it's better off if it leaves Austin. Would like to see it come back, assuming they were having difficulties with local officials like last year.
Damn, what a bummer, I was planning on going back. I hope they figure it out and make it happen in 2018, as I will be there if at all possible. So glad I went in 2015 for the Elevators, one of the best fests ever.

Where could it go? They should just move it to Spirit of the Suwannee in Florida =)
As of Sep. 26, 2016 there were two lawsuits against the organizers of Levitation filed by Ben E. Keith Co. & Transmission Events for unpaid fees. So, if it comes back in 2018 it will look radically different then it did in 2015. It will probably go back to being a club festival.
Interesting read. I wonder if 2.5 million even covers much...
Here's another article about with a bit about the Transmission lawsuit. Ironically the part about the lawsuit with Levitation is right after this quote: "The only fest that can take a year off is the Olympics," he (Johnny Sarkis,Sound on Sound co-owner) says. "You lose all momentum and essentially have to start from scratch."
Beau actually suggested that Graham book the Grateful Dead and John Mayer for two nights and call it Fun Fun Fun Fest," Orth recalled. "They didn't get the vision."
Holy shit, no wonder Graham gtfo. Sounds like Transmission turned into real shitheads. Hopefully it dissolves at this point since the heart and soul is generally gone.

Funny you mentioned that because when I got home from work I told my wife about the lawsuit and she said that she thinks Transmission folded because she hasn't received any emails from them in a while. This made me curious so I looked at their website and they have no upcoming events. Which is really weird because they used to put on a ton of events before the big shake up.
I wonder if this is a result of the c3 deal. Or maybe that deal fell through and thats why they have to delay. If its the latter I'm not expecting Levitation to return.
